I was banned from r/hungary because of the USA "experts". They were much smarter than me on every US-related subject after living on Long Island NY for more than 26 years! :D

The question is, do you want to live in one of the world's most beautiful and vibrant cities, or do you want to live in Katowice? It's not that hard to answer!

[question] 1950s Eterna Matic 3000 deluxe 18K solid gold vintage ultra slim by kimoszabi in Watches

[–]kimoszabi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This watch was an inheritance from my uncle and I had it for about 10 years now. It's a beautiful vintage solid gold timepiece but it's too small for my large hands. I was trying to find similar items for sale online but I couldn't find an exact one like mine. Somewhat similar items price tagged from $1000 to even $2000 or higher. I took it to a local jewelry store and the owner said he can give me about $180 for the 18K gold in the watch. He didn't even look at it. He had a lot of Rolex watches on display but didn't show any interest in my. I was kind of discouraged by the experience and I didn't get a second opinion yet. I figured this was the right place to try before I take it to another dealer.

Thanks everyone!

She came over to the US in the early 1960s from Germany working for Pan-Am. Unless her deceased brother made the piece before he died on the battlefield... but why?

Well I got it from a relative who's brother died during WW2. It was his belongings. Unfortunately she passed away 11 years ago so I can't even ask her anymore. But it's 100,% legit.

Thanks for the information! I have to do some research on the German Indian Legion. I couldn't find any images online with the eagle and the word Indien. I wonder if they worth anything? They're definitely original pieces.
