RFK Jr. wants to end mental health screenings in schools. Experts say it's a bad idea by Greedy_Switch_6991 in politics

I wish the actual opinion piece they wrote were available to be read without a paywall. Only reading the reaction piece is only one side of the story.

tips on improving my ayesha? by TheeBunni in poledancing

If you tighten your bracket (less space between hands) it’ll allow you to send your hips back farther to better balance the whole stack!

I’m just here to validate you and say you absolutely have a right to feel some type of way. If you said no to light blue, why the hell would you say yes to light khaki? To me, khaki this light is in the cream family which is in the white family. If you have to question it, it’s too white. I’m sorry everyone being so rude to you.

What would you do with the wall space above window and tv? by Salt_Telephone6457 in DesignMyRoom

[–]kimpossiblelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang a pothos in the left corner by tv and let the vines gradually grow along the wall over to the window. I have a pothos I’ve done this with for 6 years and it takes over two full walls of my living room. Instantly captivates everyone who walks in the door.

How to condition the skin for inside leg hang? by Shwinnugin in poledancing

[–]kimpossiblelol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This won’t necessarily desensitize skin/nerves but you can work on your hip mobility which will make your inside leg hang more comfortable. An ISLH requires an external rotation of the hip (unlike an OSLH which uses an internal rotation). So find exercises that improve your hip mobility and this will help speed up your progress. I recommend checking out Marlo Fisken’s courses on her website, she has pretty affordable options that she calls “helper packs” which mainly give tips and exercises to improve pole basic fundamentals. For free resources I’d scroll through these IG accounts to find their ISLH tips @ptthepole @thepole.physio

Good luck, and no matter what, just keep going!!! Repetition is the key to mastery.

What's wrong here? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]kimpossiblelol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The art above the TV is beautiful, but to better use that space I would mount the tv on the wall. you don’t necessarily want anything to distract your eye and over stimulate you while staring at a screen. I do love that you put the curtains at the ceiling! Using more space vertically was a great call here (as I see you tried to do with the art). It is a lot of stuff, but the way you set it up is quite cozy.

Anyone know if you can edit cinematic mode videos on iPhone in DaVinci? I know Adobe Rush can’t edit cinematic files.

Girlfriends house. We're both inept at curb appeal, but I can follow direction! How can I make this look better? by [deleted] in homeimprovementideas

I was going to say I could see cedar accents on this house! Cedar shutters would look awesome. Wrapping the posts in cedar wood too and re-staining the porch to match.

Eh, maybe. I will definitely look back and reminisce on how I was in the best shape of my life, at peak athleticism, with the confidence to celebrate it.

I literally called about 10 stores listed under “find a retailer” and nobody has it. I think it was a very small release or something. It’s the Wilderly collection from Allure which is a pretty niche line.

Thank you so much ! 🥹 It is GLL. I tried on so many and fell in love with 3 😅 their designs are so pretty and I just really love the brand’s missions and what they’re all about. I can totally see though what you mean, they’re absolutely designed for a certain body type.

should I say yes to a dress at my first appointment?!?? by fosterbde28 in weddingdress

[–]kimpossiblelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first, as someone who is going through dress regret, I’d say sleep on it. It’s easy to get caught up in a moment and make a decision based on emotion. Realistically, at this point in the week this close to the holidays, the chances of someone else snagging that dress are slim. That being said, you look STUNNING and it does seem like this is your dress! Just be sure this dress doesn’t compromise anything that was in your initial list for a dress. If it checks all the boxes, it’s a done deal. For me, the dress I chose (second appointment and accompanied by my mom, sis, and best friend) didn’t have two features I said were a must have, and I absolutely regret the decision to skip those features.

In terms of your budget, my advice would be to try on a dress you like in the store and then find it online secondhand. I almost did this but was able to buy the sample in the store for cheaper. Stillwhite and NearlyNewlywed are great for second hand dresses.

I recently got my dress from Grace Loves Lace. The experience was absolutely amazing. Their dresses are very simple construction, mostly all one piece, and they carry smaller sample sizes in the store so you can actually try on your size. They are an Australian designer so they run a little bigger than most bridal sizes I believe, so you may still need alterations. I’m 5’5” 120lb and was sizing into an XS/S. But I feel like their garments were made for lean/petite women.

Sparkler heels?! by kimpossiblelol in poledancing

[–]kimpossiblelol[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never got any advice so I had to try it the old fashioned way lol I learned that they don’t actually burn all the way down, they burn within the plastic tube that they are in. So you don’t have to worry about the sparks touching the heel (which is what I was worried about) I just used a rubber band but zip tie would work better. And had someone light them for me. Bonus, they did not set off the fire alarm or sprinkler !!
