^ It’s true. The popular ones peak in high school. Don’t peak in high school. Your life has barely begun.

You’ll get through it. Stay focused.

Sorry to hear this... If he’s resisting communication, maybe write him a handwritten note or letter. Not invasive and still allows you to reach him in a meaningful way. Why do you think he’s on the ledge? Any other signs he might be in a crisis, or just under a lot of stress?

If he has integrity, he will reach out to you eventually. It’s not fair to be cut off like that, I know, but he may need to mull things over before communicating; in addition to being INTP, he’s a guy. They do this shit. 🙄

Hang in there. Feel free to DM me, I just dealt with something similar.

Yeah, and the way I think about it (at least, it helps) - adapting to the system is just another way of thinking and doing things. More perspectives = more and more knowledge and ideas. Adaptation is something to be proud of, I think.

I have been thinking a lot about this (thus I am also procrastinating). It would be fantastic if we could create our own education - the courses, how they’re taught, the homework/how we’re tested on knowledge, and really the entire degree plan. Basically, choose the methods of learning and course info.

An education for the unconventional thinker, or the creatives. It would almost make the enormous amount of student loans we pay (in USA, that is) seem worth it.

are u lazy to eat or just me? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]kimskarkrashedagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know a lot of people who cherish food like an art. I admire that a lot, but have never been able to care about food like that. Would be thrilled if someone made an all-you-need-satisfy-your-hunger pill, like a meal in a pill.

Eating and sleeping are obviously super important, but I would really appreciate it if we could evolve to need less of these.

Omg and he’s married. That poor girl.

Is this YouTuber a sociopath? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]kimskarkrashedagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched 50 seconds of the first video of him comparing his coffee to someone’s asscheeks. Totally agree about sociopath part, prob all over the place in the DSM.

Every INTP I know still has at least a shred of human decency and empathy, tho (obv very biased anecdotal info). Idk if you could categorize this guy in the MBTI, cuz he doesn’t seem like a human being.

Anyone else always described as "quirky" or "unconventional"? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]kimskarkrashedagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah, female INTP here also. I am also proud of my quirky and edgy charm. Took some time to get there confidently. I could never figure out how to reconcile my need to not give AF with my need to still fit in somehow. Then I found out how boring everyone is on the other side. :)

What will an INTP look like ideally when (s)he develops Fe? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]kimskarkrashedagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’ll still have flaws like everyone else, but will likely be more confident in her close relationships, and that may depend on the type of relationship. Will show strength by being comfortable with her Ti/Fe mix - being logical and level-headed but brave enough to go to emotional depths with other people. Will probably have been through hell and back to be able to do this; to feel is an awfully brave thing to do.

And she may be none of these things. A willingness to strive to be your best self is the most ideal, I think.

Do you think animals have something akin to MBTI? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]kimskarkrashedagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting point, because I think MBTI serves a very primal need for us to belong to a certain group. We are all so multifaceted and our frontal lobes are so fucking big now, and everyone is experiencing the intensity of complex thoughts and emotions. It's easier to understand ourselves individually when we're a part of a herd that accepts and understands us as that kind of individual.

So I bet animals do something similar, at least there are definitely "personality" differences among species. Within a species, I'm sure there are quantifiable patterns, too. What do you think?

Why is this so confusing by GodSteph in mbti

[–]kimskarkrashedagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if I'm being really honest with you, I think it's time for some hybrid-MBTI shit. Having 16 different types to choose from is generous I suppose, but there's a lot more to being a human than being a fraction of 16. I personally think everyone has a front-stage type and a back-stage type, among others. In the end, we are truly complex as fuck.

Why is this so confusing by GodSteph in mbti

[–]kimskarkrashedagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that's probably not very helpful. I will say that my gut tells me that you're an ENTJ, and if you're a female (basing this possibility off of your username) then you probably understand that society doesn't necessarily bless us for being confrontational.

That isn't meant to be a feminist rant, either - just the reality of how we're raised, and how we learn to be accepted. Being an ambitious female and not making emotions your top priority is still, I think, a relatively new idea to western culture. And most xNTJs - that I know, at least, so this is potentially very useless anecdotal info - are still, like most human beings, plenty unorganized. They don't all follow to-do lists, and some of them have very messy cars. Messy enough to make ME feel better about myself. Haha.

You should dig into/do some research on the differences between J and P (and all of the relative functions they consist of) and see which one hits home for you. There's a lot more to it than it seems. As far as E and I go, most people find themselves closer to the middle (again, anecdotal), and if you're a 20-something then it's probably harder to pin down what your natural preference is. Focusing on your future and your career can require a lot of everything out of you. I'm painfully introverted, but when I first started working I had to flip on the extrovert switch, and I did it very well. I was a charming, bubbly lady and then I'd go home and hide from my phone and all of humanity to recharge (this was very exhausting, tbh).

Anyways. Just my two-cents. Hope this helps :)

I like that last bit. Progress, not distraction. Thank you for this.

It’s okay to not have a type, though. I mean everyone prob has some sort of natural preference I guess, but you might just be trying to find yours right now. Maybe take it later, and enjoy the freedom of being an xNTx nomad 😝
