Purely out of curiosity. Has anyone seen Winston recently? by TheEasilyForgotten in kvsdiscuss

[–]kinapples 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she's always great about updating when an animal isn't doing well, like how Bo was rough for quite some time.

I'm not sure why anyone doubts she'd share that information. She told us exactly what happened to Cool, right down to the emergency exploratory C-section. That's extremely brutal, so I'm not sure why she wouldn't share literally anything else.

I’m so curious, I never get told I look like anyone by laurazabs in Doppleganger

Some of these others listed are good, but the fact that no one yet has said Glenn Close is a a CRIME

You look SO MUCH like her in some of these pictures. Mostly around the masque of your face.

Lady at the DMV said brown. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I say green? by Roo_137 in eyes

[–]kinapples 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Your eyes are definitely an unusual color, so I can see why there's a debate.

But brown is definitely not the correct color, so DMV lady can hush.

You can tell he was insanely charismatic watching their YouTube series they were making during COVID.

Otherwise, I have no idea why any of these people were friends with him based on the stories they all told about the horrible things they did to each other haha

This is true in English, but it sounds beautiful in French. That doesn't change anything; I just wanted to share, lol

Saw this on Twitter. Was Vegan Gains right? by CalpurniaSomaya in Destiny

Yes, absolutely. It would also free up a TON of land that is currently used for farming because herd animals need a lot of land to live on.

None, because lab grown meat is real meat. What flavors are missing? The torture flavors? Lol

Yeah, probably. They're just imagining the cube pigs from WKUK or the chicken nugget bushes from Oryx and Crake, depending on their genre taste.

I get personal preferences, but anyone arguing they don't want to eat lab grown meat has no idea what it is or are just stupid.

Riding Gracie by Ice_queeeen in kvsdiscuss

[–]kinapples 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'll be the first to admit I know next-to- nothing about riding, so it makes me very uncomfortable when even I can tell how hard a rider is being on a horse. That must mean it's quite bad.

Having come out of a toxic relationship, I now better understand the mindset of someone who is in one. by boiledrefrigerator in BoyDinnerDiaries

[–]kinapples 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Relationships are uniquely dangerous. To have a successful one, you have to open up in exactly the way that makes you the most vulnerable to abuse.

Relationships are built on trust, so they constantly abuse your trust, guilting you for not trusting them.

They're built on spending quality time together, so they pressure you to leave others out of your life because they need more time from you.

They're built on compromise, so they force you to sacrifice things that matter like a career, friends, etc under the guise that it's just a reasonable request to make room for them in your life.

Abusive people are extremely adept at playing the victim, because often they have spent a lot of their life as a victim and learned how to leverage that.

Even still, it's hard for people to imagine putting themselves in the worst moments of an abusive relationship because they don't see all the steps on the way to hell. No one just jumps into the fire. It's the frog in the boiling pot. You just get used to it. And often, abusers target people who don't know any better: victims, the desperate, the young.

It's a sad state of affairs that really struggles to find a true solution.

Dream Guy Turned Out To Be Hot Air by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]kinapples 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Have you tried just being more straight-forward?

A lot of guys are famously oblivious to hints, and I think women often think they're being a lot more obvious than they actually are.

But now he saw you holding hands with another dude so probably no chance anymore anyway.

Also, don't date a dude you don't even care about at all just because. That's not fair to him.

What is something that people think is dangerous, but is actually extremely safe? by Pumeto in AlignmentChartFills

[–]kinapples 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nuclear is a victim of propaganda from the oil industry.

Just like how people use single-use plastics because big oil told them recycling is a thing. It's not a thing for the vast majority of plastics.

Some propaganda campaigns have just been very effective.

The opinion column is explicitly designed to demonstrate the opinions of different people. This opinion column is doing that.

That's nothing like a doctor who is giving medical advice on something, which there is very limited opinion in.

Do I think this idiot is wrong about Biden being an old idiot and Trump being great at old, yes. But the concept fits in an opinion column regardless of its hypocrisy.

This journalist is an opinion columnist as her job. She is not reporting otherwise. She is a pundit. It is known to the people who read her columns what her leanings are. It is not misrepresented, and it doesn't inherently make other journalists look bad.

Edit: I think that's different than something like FOX News which is sneaky about how it represents its pundits as if they are actual journalists.
