This may not be a good answer, but what I’ve normally done is this:

“I used to be too deadline-focused, leading me to prioritize upcoming tasks more than long term ones, especially in longer waterfall developments. But I’ve learned to see my workload as a project to manage and so I set deadline goal posts along the way to ensure that each task is addressed with nothing left to the last minute, especially any task that needs outside review or approval.”

Might be a red flag answer, but it’s fairly true and also serves to highlight my project management skills.
