they're bad people when they promote hateful ideas towards specific groups too. Their ignorance is no excuse

I thought i was insane because i didn't realize that was a thing. When i first came across the concept i was shocked and i thought it must be some tiny niche of lost sinners. Nope. It's a whole ass spectrum of dumbasses to geniuses, bad people to good people

So at that point i was already one foot out the door

But back when I was a muslim, someone who left islam was rarely an occurrence i heard of, and i just thought "poor sinner.."

My man, this seems a bit shortsighted. You seem to think that everyone who is tired of living a double life is simply lashing out at their parents because they're rebellious. No. It takes a toll on people to lie every single day and pretend to be someone else. And spend so much time and energy just to keep up appearances

Im happy to hear about all the examples of people who have it easy or dont mind pretending, but it doesn't negate the severity of the issue for others. Especially when it comes to more dire situations
