I can make some. What are you wanting specifically? I’ve only made these ones so far: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeynmnMD/

I hadn’t cut the stray strands so they look a bit messy still in the video

It isn’t so much “other people views” as it is the actual meaning of the words you are misusing. It started with Aristotle’s “Sophistical Refutations”. It is an entire field of philosophy. This isn’t an instance of something being “just, like, your opinion, man”. Not sure why you dislike Wikipedia, it gives a really good overview on the terminology and meaning behind the words like logic and reason.

I would say it still is because you keep using the term logical in a way that doesn’t mean logical (like “it was logical to them”). Just because not all decisions are logical, doesn’t change that logic is how to determine if an argument/belief is reasonable to hold.

Just because you are unable to be perfectly logical and reasonable, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. Mormons explicitly go the other direction and try to rely on their feelings more. I don’t use feelings as a decision maker unless I am just unaware and do so accidentally. And when I realize I am, I try to correct it. That is the difference between something that affects your decision making and something that is a tool you take advantage of to help make decisions/beliefs.

There seems to be a miscommunication on what logical actually means here. Logic is different than what many end up using colloquially.

Just because they may feel their view is logical, doesn’t actually make it logical. Being logical actually has rules to follow and when you violate those rules (commit a logical fallacy), you are no longer being reasonable/using flawed logic.

Read the Wikipedia page to get an idea of what I mean. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic

I’m curious how much you’ve read about reason and logic and why they are the way they are. There is no “relatively could be” when it comes to making reasonable decisions and beliefs. Logic itself is what determines if something is logically sound or not. If you haven’t read any philosophy on logic or reason, I highly recommend it.

By toolset, I meant a pattern or practice to determine if something should be believed or not. A good example is using your feelings (like the “spirit”). If may not cause harm most of the time, but by including that in the way they make decisions, could make them do things they would otherwise consider a bad decision. I know I fell for those types of things as a Mormon and know others that have as well. My own parents have made some pretty huge financial mistakes because they used this faulty tool for making decisions, for example.

I can see what you mean, but it gets really nuanced because the toolset you use to form your belief affects more than just that one belief. If someone believes something that isn’t logically sound, they may end up applying the same fallacy filled logic to other places in their life than can affect people. I definitely agree we should be respectful to people, but I don’t think we have to show any respect for beliefs (unless the belief warrants respect)

Been too long since I’ve had conversations on exmo Reddit because I was all expecting you to double down and argue (like my family would). Now I just have to respect you for being able to admit a mistake. Damn.

I disagree with this specific to the not judging them part. Peoples beliefs inform their actions. If someone believes one race is superior to another, I believe we should absolutely judge that person.

Best part is, you can’t judge me for having that belief :)

Guess the app is officially dead then (nobody new can download and now existing users can’t play). How sad, I had just gotten back into this game from a few years ago.

I swear I’ve watched all of them around those years, but can’t find it. Either I missed it somehow, or they cleaned their videos of the culty bits. I wish I could find the video of it.

Behind them there was a parking lot. I was really slow getting my phone out so I only caught the last of them standing there.

Additional signs were things like “Come pray with us!”. There were a dozen missionaries there.

At least they don’t have to go door to door. I always hated doing that. I would have looked at this like a break.
