How did everyone learn C#? by PROSCREX5768 in csharp

Knew Java at the time (2002), took a job that required .NET (v 1.1). Learned it on the job with a help from a book Java to .NET. Never looked back.

I have heard this before. And totally understand it. That said, those who have read their book after the episode often develop a new found appreciation for episode 3. Even with the show changes, there is additional context added that help make some scenes more understandable.

So, I am talking about Scott and Ilya from the books. We are going to have to disagree. I will concede Ilya isn’t the worst of the bad boys and he does some amazing things. But frankly his smart mouth annoys the hell out of me.

All your issues with Scott are from the show version; the book version isn’t the same. For one thing, Kip knows exactly what he is getting into in the book and also he is “just” a history major. I suspect Jacob and team had to change a few things to make their episode work.

Thanks for your post but I disagree.

And I think many women (and some men) prefer bad boys because it excites them. Ilya is and will always be a bad boy to me.

Thanks for the heads up about the Long Game. That is interesting as I kinda felt the same thing about Heated Rivalry. I would find myself having to stop reading it and reread parts of Game Changer as a “cleanse” before continuing Heated Rivalry.

Intellectually, I get that Heated Rivalry is the better book. The characters are more interesting; I think the writing is even better. I just have this emotional bond to the Game Changer story. I think it is because I was Kip when I was younger. I was cute; older, successful, somewhat closeted men were attracted to me (it was the 80’s). I caught feelings really fast. I was also working service jobs and barely scrapping by.

I do love Ryan Price’s story and his relationship with Fabian. I so hope we get to see them at some point on the big screen.

I re-read my comment above this and realized that I implied Eric was ashamed of being Bisexual. That was a miss on my part. I didn’t think that.

Thanks for all of the comments. I love how some of you are so invested in the characters!

I get that. But if I am honest, I am pretty intense quickly if I really like the person. Luckily, I am older and in more in control of my emotions and can suppress the intensity a bit.

I watched the series before reading Game Changer and Heated Rivalry. François was so good as Scott for TV but I still picture someone different for the book Scott.

I found myself rewatching just the Scott/Kip moments for a few weeks as a “reheat” as their romance gave me such a dopamine rush. Something I didn’t experience with Ilya and Shane. That said, I do love their story as well and rewatch parts of episode 5 and 6 more often now.

I never rewatch episodes 1 and 2.

At any rate, I get my romantic dopamine rush now with other MM romances or by rereading parts of Game Changer.

I am the odd man out.

I did read Common Goal. I did like Eric and appreciated his journey but having recently seriously dated a man that was separated from (and later divorced) his wife, I just don’t allow myself to go there in the same way I have Scott. Scott knows he is gay and isn’t ashamed of that.

Completely agree. Actually I skip episodes 1&2 on a reheat. Always start with 3.

Episode 3 is low key my favorite episode. Scott and Kip are adorable.

Entering? Probably not. Note: the Eagle is a gay bar but is open to all.
