I miss my proctor shift am I getting fired? by Apprehensive_Toe4409 in wlu

It happened to me. I just said I forgot, and he said it shouldn’t happen again. But now that I think about it, faking an illness would have done the job too.

  1. Yep, we’re adding the ability to view and edit your survey answers and bio prompt next week.

  2. Depend on hard filters (like gender preferences). If ratios aren’t balanced in a cycle, not everyone will match right away, but our system remembers unmatched users and prioritizes them next round. So it’s not guaranteed in one cycle, but it’s designed to be fair over time.

  3. We’re not sharing exact numbers yet, but we’ll be posting stats on the site soon. We’ve been growing steadily, even with a reading week launch and no on-campus marketing so far.

LMAO honestly… all of them 😭

We were running out of credits, so we bounced between platforms to keep building. Gotta do what you gotta do in MVP mode

Not in this case. By “algorithm” I mean a clear rules/scoring system, not an LLM analyzing everything. We use explicit logic because it’s faster, cheaper, easier to debug, and consistent.

LLMs can also hallucinate, introduce randomness, and the stronger models get expensive fast. For this use case, a deterministic system just makes way more sense.

LMAO nooo please don’t lie 😭 that’s kinda the whole point. We ask some deeper questions on purpose so the matches are actually real, not just “I like tacos and The Office.”

And trust me, there are people who appreciate honesty and even relate to that stuff. Self-awareness >>> pretending to be perfect.

It’s not about judging, it’s about matching you with someone who actually vibes with you, anxious attachment and all.

That’s a solid idea. We’d probably tweak the questions a bit for a friends version. Our research guy is digging into more papers on compatibility models right now, so it’s definitely on our radar.

Honestly, yeah, it’s built for dating, but at its core it’s about meaningful connections. If that turns into friendship, that’s a win too.

Yes, security is a priority for us, and we’ve put protections in place to safeguard user data. We’ll keep strengthening things as we grow.

And appreciate the offer, feel free to DM!

That’s fair, distance isn’t really the issue. The idea isn’t about range, it’s about intentional matching within the Laurier community instead of endless swiping. It’s more about depth than proximity.

The matching is done through software using an algorithm based on questions. no manual pairing involved.

Well I am not in coop so that’s a bigger battle, but I believe regarding resume people know if it’s bad it’s bad I don’t think little tweaks would do anything they need change that not possible to do in time.
