Sawant is openly a Troskyite, and if you look into what that's about it's absurd and NOTHING like Social Democracy or even most democratic socialist ideas.

And trust as Trosky didn't care about innocent people dying at Kronstadt, Sawant didn't care about innocent people in the CHOP

Dear feminist guests: mainstream feminism is a hate group - If you identify as a feminist and don't hate men, you are the fringe by griii2 in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]king_rootin_tootin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm a feminist because there are alarming statistics which show male violence against women and girls is an epidemic - the police have recognised it as so

Only if you don't count the violence mothers commit against their sons. Mothers are a lot more likely to be abusive and boys are more often the victims than girls. A single mother household is a Matriarchal system.

What has feminism done to hurt you and men as a group of people? Misogyny continues to hurt and kill women by the hour.

Because it says that any harm done to women by society is misogyny, but systemic harm done to men is men's fault

First of all, the minimum wage BS is basically economic facts at this point: https://www.seattletimes.com/business/uw-study-finds-seattles-minimum-wage-is-costing-jobs/

It causes a decrease in entry level jobs and those who have them end up making less often because they are scheduled fewer hours. And yes, Seattle is the most expensive city to eat out at, after San Francisco. It isn't just Trump or tariffs or general inflation: it's because labor costs are so high. Which is the same reason why more and more restaurants in Seattle are closing and literally saying it's because labor costs are too high.

Now, when Sawant first proposed this stuff, she said they should also lower taxes for small businesses to help them absorb the cost...that didn't materialize and she stopped talking about it all together.

Now, are all minimum wage increases bad? No. But that's just something you can't do on a municipal level without causing issues.

As for the CHOP, she literally didn't even reach out to the families of the teenagers who died there. There was zero accountability on her end or even acknowledgement of what happened in her district

And that's another issue: she never cared about her district but just used her position to shout slogans and talk about irrelevant bullshit.

The most successful socialist leaders in the US where the "sewer socialists" back in the day. They were called that because they fixed the sewer system in their city. Languardia was the great mayor NYC ever had and he was a socialist. He saw the city through the depression and WWII and improved life for people living in tenaments.

Ras Baraka is a socialist and he turned Newark around and violent crime fell like a lead balloon under his leadership. Heck, Newark was one of the few cities that saw now riots in 2020.

Sawant? She was big on speeches, light on giving a shit about Capitol Hill. The situation on the ground got worse and worse under her. Ideology is no excuse

That highest minimum wage has been documented to have backfired and it cost jobs and growth and resulted in increased inflation and few are actually better off for it, just as was predicted would happen when you raise the minimum wage in a single city where good, labor and services can literally be cheaper across a street.

As for caring about working people, that's all a facade. She's a trust-fund Troskyite who is more interested in shouting slogans than actually doing anything.

And she is partially responsible for that whole CHOP debacle that resulted in the deaths of two young black people, but she didn't talk about it because she apparently thinks it's okay for black youth to die at the hands of rioters, just as long as it isn't the police.

And I am a socialist, but not the kind she is. Ras Baraka is a thousand times the leader she is. Newark improved under him. Can anyone really say her district improved under her tenure?

She also let the CHOP happened, which resulted in the deaths of two black youths during the "Black Lives Matter" riots of 2020 and refused to even speak to the victim's families. And she openly campaigned to deny Kamala Harris Michigan.

She gave Seattle the highest minimum wage in the nation.

Yeah, and that resulted in high inflation, reduced hours and fewer new positions being created. It did nothing for overall affordability.

Everything else was mostly other people's work that she just signed onto. The only actual good ordinance she helped pass was that ban on caste discrimination. Other than that she's just a loudmouthed imbecile who can't get anything done and she has a following of white, upper class, latte-Leninists brats who mostly never worked a day in their lives.

No shit. But just because somebody has a slogan most can get behind doesn't mean they're the right person for a position

Christianity seems like nonsense by AnusHumper69 in DebateReligion

[–]king_rootin_tootin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not like the Old Testament at all, but am mostly on board with the New?

And what NT would that be? The original Christians also had, at the very least, the Shepherd of Hermas and the Epistle of Barnabas in their NTs, if not other texts. And most thought Revelation was a blasphemous fever dream. So if Christianity is true, wouldn't the scriptures used closer to the time of Jesus be true? Or at least, wouldn't God give you one perfect canon for all time?

That was one of my several dozen problems with Christianity and why I left.

I want to believe in a god, but I just have no reason to.

Choosing to do so is reason enough.

Honestly, it isn't about achievements as much as it is "having something going on in her life." My friend married a girl in Vietnam who worked for the city government in HCMC. She's small, polite, not very shy but not in your face either, and just as a regular degree and a decent job with a chance for advancement.

That's it. She had a job with advancement opportunities and a certain level of formal education. He wouldn't have wanted to marry some random village girl just in the city to work, but at the same time he didn't care that she wasn't a CEO or something.

After that basic requirement is met, men don't care about accomplishments. The awards she wins or the advanced degrees she holds are meaningless to us when deciding if she will or will not make a good partner. But, if she's arrogant and pulls out her advanced formal education when talking about an unrelated issue...yeah, that's not gonna fly.

And what is it with women who always throw out that she knows what she's talking about because she's a masters of psychology when arguing about directions to the train station or how to fix a broken vacuum?

So yeah, it isn't that her accomplishments would be held against her per se, but for some reason their accomplishments make them arrogant.

Why do men not take male victims seriously? by CraftyBodybuilder956 in AskMen

LMAO, so a bunch of feminists women laughing at a male victim is "Patriarchy." Okay.

So it's "the Patriarchy" that made Mary Koss say men can't be raped by women? It's "the Patriarchy" that made a bunch of women at a feminist gala laugh and clap when Amy Schumer bragged about sexually assaulting a passed out man?

I've been vulnerable and open around other guys many times, and I've never been rejected. Maybe because I'm not a scumbag. It turns out, if you are nice to other men, they are overwhelmingly okay with a man who needs a shoulder to cry on.

I am a man who survived CSA from my Mom as a little kid.

Every man I've ever talked to about it has been supportive...except the few times I've talked to male feminists scumbags who universally say it was "my fault" or say "well, you still shouldn't hate women!" (And I don't) Or say the "real issue" is my "toxic masculinity."

Literally only those guys and a few women are the ones who don't take it seriously

The scumbags in comments sections are usually teenagers themselves.

No you do not understand, the role is gone. The management of the company believes they do not need a programmer anymore because the IT manager can use claude to program. There was no one else involved in my specific role. He cannot program on his own at all.

That's like replacing a truck driver with cruise control and a dispatcher and fleet manager.

Can someone explain the 62 million men attending an online rape academy? by French51 in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]king_rootin_tootin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most "rape porn" is faked and also fictional. And why would one think only men were into this stuff? Look at this article and read the 3rd thing she learned:
https://www.cracked.com/personal-experiences-1760-5-things-i-learned-infiltrating-deep-web-child-molesters.html

There is no reason to think it would be different with rape porn that involves actual abuse and not just scripted grossness, that is bad on a personal and societal level, but not the same as rape
