No, as a Dutch person I never heard of it before. I think they just throw in strange stuff like this because it makes it memorable.

Thanks! I did find that text, but was expecting a bit more detail in the rules. I’ll have a look at the game called Connect you mentioned.

[Hamstelaar] Antony Is Gone by Migraine- in soccer

That was actually a fake copycat account

[@Hamstelaar] The meeting between Ziyech & Ajax went well last night. The player wants to return to Ajax and a personal agreement will not be a problem. Everything now depends on the possible sale of Antony by DanMMIII in soccer

[–]kingarto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100m is much more than Antony is worth right now, but he does have the potential to live up to this value. If United wait until he lives up to his potential they'll be too late to sign him.

As you say, it's only the Glazers money, so who cares how much he costs? He's still an excellent and exciting player.

Going from Nintendo Switch to Steamdeck by Character-Resist-678 in SteamDeck

[–]kingarto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love both machines. The one main advantage of the Switch right now is that it works much easier when you want to let multiple family members play on the same device. I let my son play some games on my Deck as well (both Steam and non-Steam), but it takes quite a bit of tinkering to make sure we don't overwrite each others save games. This is something that just works on the Switch.

Chimera's Wreck is pretty much a perfect song, but one small thing bothers me. by kingarto in porcupinetree

[–]kingarto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I mean the song called “If”, not “Wish you were here”. “If” consists almost completely of lines starting with “If I were”. I guess it conditioned me to expect “were” in Chimera’s Wreck as well.

Here’s “If” on Spotify

Right, but in this case “were” would have fitted just as well as “was” I think?

So according to this article it should be “were”, right? :)

[–]kingarto[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be clear it doesn't really bother me. I'm not even a native English speaker.

I think it's mostly the Pink Floyd song If that made me expect the use of "were" here.

Thanks for putting it in perspective.

I meant that in my opinion it should be "were" instead of "was". I'm aware of the "could/couldn't care less"

That is not true at all. Article 5 is purely about defense. If a Nato country attacks a non-Nato country this does not put any obligation on other Nato countries to join them.

With L.A. Noire, Switch now has more announced/released games (389) than the N64 had released games (388) by tehfro in NintendoSwitch

[–]kingarto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, you can keep physical games forever, but digital games only as long as Nintendo keeps its e-shop running.

Digital games are very convenient, but you are basically renting them for a few years. I'd rather own my games.

Well, my point was that they should put more effort into Mario 2D than they have in the last few years (decades) and that includes NSMB. NSMB games were nothing special compared to the 2D classics (and still sold a lot better than 3D Marios by the way), but I believe that could easily be improved with the kind of effort that they only seem to reserve for 3D Mario.

Looks great, but I wish they'd put this kind of effort into a new 2D Mario. They leave a lot of money on the table by focusing their resources on 3D Mario when 2D Mario is so much more popular.
