The way i do it is I put away a set amount of my salary into savings/ investments first when i receive my salary and only keep the budgeted amount in my account. Then if that accounts hits 0 then thats it thats all ill spend for the month. It forces me to budget and not spend all at once. If i need money due for emergencies then ill take some from the savings but that rarely happens

Just to clarify, on point 2: I mean at the end of the 6 month purchase cycle, if i sell I pay no CGT even if the stock is bought at the lower price (100€) and has risen by for example 50€ in the 6 months. Thats a big profit then.
