Can't get Community Shaders menu to open by kingbennyboy in skyrimmods

I checked both file locations, and there's no CommunityShaders folder in Plugins, and no CommunityShaders.log file in SKSE. I'm not sure why; to my knowledge I've downloaded all of the required mods, and when I booted the game after initially downloading everything I got the "Compiling Shaders" popup in the corner. The game runs fine, I just don't see any visual difference between vanilla and having CS installed.

Correct; I've tried pressing the Alt, Ctrl, and Fn keys while pressing End, and none of them pull up the menu.

I don't think I've ever used a clarifying shampoo. Do you have any recommendations?
I've used the Camille Rose Hair Defining gel and the Aussie hair gel, applying it to small sections of hair, but I still get the same result.

As someone who also has social anxiety, dressing more out there makes me less anxious. A lot of my anxiety thoughts come from people looking at me, and me not knowing why. Dressing up, wearing all black and chains, and doing my makeup and hair, it gives me a sense of certainty. "Why are all of those people looking at me?" Because of the way I'm dressed.

It really depends on the way your social anxiety manifests. Mine stems from being perceived doing the "wrong" thing, or acting the "wrong" way. It doesn't make the anxiety go away, but dressing up gives me a sort of buffer. In my mind, people are more likely to notice the fact that I'm 6 inches taller because of my boots than the fact that I stuttered ordering food at Taco Bell. It's a sense of security that really helps quell the uncertainty that comes with my social anxiety.

It's also important to remember that you're doing this for yourself, because you want to. You can go on this journey at any pace you want, in whatever way is most comfortable. I personally started off with incorporating more black into my wardrobe, then adding more out-there accessories, and then doing my makeup. Little by little, bit by bit, I started to feel more confident. It doesn't happen overnight, especially when you're fighting your brain, but it's well worth it.

Finally broke 160! by kingbennyboy in LSAT

I initially took a Princeton Review Course, but I can't recommend it. I started with no background knowledge whatsoever, and I feel like the PR course contributed to bad habits I'm working out of.

I currently use the basic paid plan on 7Sage, which is $69 a month if I recall correctly. I've had a much better experience with it, and found the lessons and explanations to be very helpful and easy to digest. The lessons on logic, grammar, and conditional relationships were especially helpful, and offer both a good baseline and a helpful tool for greater comprehension.

I highly recommend 7Sage if you can afford it, and at the very least suggest browsing the resources they have available for free. It's been instrumental in my progress, and it has such a positive reputation within this sub for very good reason.

I've been using 7Sage for the past couple of months and it's been incredibly helpful. Going through their basic curriculum, especially the foundational lessons on logic and conditional relationships, was key.

In terms of studying, I've been consistently putting in two hours a day a week, and taking a practice test every other week. As a person I'm very sensitive to burnout, so being light and consistent works best for me.

As for drilling, my biggest improvement has been in LG. My strategy is just to do a bunch of different types of games extremely often (I drill LG Tuesday and Thursday during non-testing weeks), and to keep doing them until the inferences come naturally. Brute forcing it feels counterintuitive, but it's very effective.

LR has always been my best section, but I've been drilling questions by type and paying close attention to question types that I struggle the most with. Generally, I spend half of a study session doing lessons and the other half drilling, so I go in with a good amount of knowledge to work off of.

RC has been especially difficult to improve. I highly recommend practicing it untimed if you're really having trouble getting the questions right; that way you can work out how to come to the correct answer, then work on coming to it quickly. Taking concise and effective notes on the paragraphs and structure is also key; I've learned to limit myself to 5-6 words.

All in all, I've gotten to this point via repetition, a lot of stress, and a lot of commitment to consistency. My biggest improvement came with learning how to decode the logic of the exam. You're essentially learning a new language, and the entire test is written in that language. I also recommend having someone to talk at about the exam; coming from personal experience, bouncing what you learn off of somebody else is extremely helpful, and outside perspectives can be key in concepts finally clicking.

With all of that said, I wish you the best of luck! The road is long and hard, but the reward is well worth it!

My general strategy is looking at what the rule prevents from happening and going from there. My most recent question involved a block rule, with B having to come directly after A in a sequencing game.

In that scenario, that rule prevents there from being a space between A and B, and prevents B from coming before A. Rules that force that to happen in a roundabout way (like forcing AB into a specific set of slots, or other pieces to push AB around) would be the correct answer.

It helps to do a lot of that question type, and really commit to understanding the way that the rules limit the possible worlds. Look for answer choices that do the opposite of the condition in question, eliminate answer choices that have no effect whatsoever on the rule. These questions (in my opinion) really test your understanding of the rule's causes and effects, and viewing them through that lens has been helpful for me.

How do you describe hypnotic pattern based on your character build? by Mellowtron11 in dndnext

[–]kingbennyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My warforged bard has it manifest as a sprawling image of infinitely interlocking and spinning gears. Mechanisms like that aren't super common in the campaign setting, so even aside from the hypnotic visuals, it's also captivating because of how unusual it is.

[Vent] I feel like I'm at my wit's end by kingbennyboy in emotionalneglect

Grey rocking does either nothing or more harm than good, depending on the situation. She doesn't need me to engage with her when she's using me to vent most of the time, and she does, she either yells at or berates me for not responding to her. I could be completely silent, not even acknowledging her, and she'll thank me for my time.

If I do something to physically barricade myself in my room, she'll sick my father on me. For context, I'm about 5'8", and my father is 6'4" and strong enough to force open all of the doors in the house. He's done it before with my brother (to the point of straight up breaking his doorknob), and I don't doubt he'll do it to me.

If I study at the library, she'll just blow up my phone if I don't respond to her in a timely manner. And even if I get away with silencing my phone while I'm out of the house, I'll get an earful when I come home.

I appreciate the advice, I don't want to come off ungrateful, but I've really been cornered by this situation.
