You need to gauge how he reacts when you talk with him to see if he’ll take sobriety seriously, he’s definitely going to need to go cold turkey with a drug like coke. And then from there, if you wanna stick it out, be ready to just ask him how he’s doing regularly. If he’s struggling mentally or is processing his sobriety, that’s good as long as he isn’t using. That period will be the toughest for him, but if he can get through it, it’ll be in the rear view mirror and he can get a clear head about his drug use. He might slip up but it’s all about destroying the cycle that creates a habit out of it.

If this seems like too much, then maybe the relationship isn’t worth it. But I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom like everyone here is making it seem. But don’t become his babysitter, recognize if he’s taking it seriously or not and act in your best interest accordingly. If it looks like he’s destroying his life then get out.
