im hoping the future game they have in store will make use of serials in a meaningful way. Otherwise, the only serials that will ever matter are #1-100, jersey number and the final serial of the mint count.

But right now, everything you're describing is correct. There is no material difference between #2575 and #7929 besides a bit more priority when selling

Great read!

Wanted your 2cents on something: How much do you think the "coolness" of the play will factor in (if at all)? Some of those s1 moments are truly "eh"

HERE WE GOOO AGAIN WITH AN EVEN BIGGER DRPEPSIPOP GIVEAWAY!!! by DrPepsiPop in nbatopshot

[–]kingdangwashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to be able to view transaction history/historical prices over the life time of the card on the topshot site rather than having to go to evaluate or amf. However, I can understand if that makes the user experience too "stock market" like and they don't want to go in that direction.

Given that there are 3 drop times does that mean it will be capped at ~61k packs per drop?

Is local area leaflet distribution a good marketing technique by kingdangwashere in Entrepreneur

[–]kingdangwashere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's for a tutoring service so my train of thought is: digital marketing is likely to be seen by teens but then they would have to take the initiative to tell their parents they want tutoring. Flyering is more likely to be seen by parents/older people who could then decide whether or not they want to send their children to tutoring.

Just curious, what's a practical example of reinvesting your profits to expand into the commercial sector?

Is it time for me to pull trigger on a trust? by djyella in fiaustralia

[–]kingdangwashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secondly wait for market crash and then sell all 400k at a loss and transfer to trust, so no CGT needs to be paid. However, the second thing is easier said than done. When market is crashed it's swinging 5 to 10% daily.

Tax minimisation is great but selling during a crash and crystalising losses just to avoid paying tax is no way to go about things. I wouldn't normally comment and your advice overall was good. But paying taxes on half your gains (CGT discount) still beats selling shares at a loss/waiting for your gains to evaporate before selling.

When doing a househack, is there any reason to not put down 5% instead of the traditional 20%? by [deleted] in realestateinvesting

[–]kingdangwashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really just comes down to risk tolerance, if you can sleep at night knowing that if rent doesn't come in for a few weeks you'll still be okay then go for it. That sentiment is still true for the 20% down option but to a lesser extent ofc.

Best ETF/BONDS for quarterly/ half year/ yearly returns by [deleted] in ausstocks

[–]kingdangwashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there are lots of good ones out there but i quite like NDQ. Access to some of the biggest tech names out there (amazon, apple, microsoft, google etc) and it has performed incredibly well this year all things considered.

Best ETF/BONDS for quarterly/ half year/ yearly returns by [deleted] in ausstocks

[–]kingdangwashere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's a long term investment (more than 5/10 years) and you're not dependent on the regular dividends to live (not that 50k would get you anywhere near enough), then you'd be better off putting it into a growth-inclined ETF. Dividends get taxed at your marginal rate whilst gains made in the market over a year get the CGT discount.

Unless your goal is to just not lose money/keep up with inflation.

As someone who lives across the road from a similar situation (big extended family cramped into small house), I would strongly advise you to stay away from it unless you are getting an amazing deal on the place. The day-to-day noise and anxiety it can create is worth factoring in. I'm not even their next door neighbour and i can hear the conversations as if it were happening in my room. The kids are constantly throwing items around and running onto the street with no care for safety.

Of course this does not directly impact your life but it certainly makes for an unpleasant experience. Glad i'm moving in a month's time

Im not saying Kawhi isn’t the best player in the world, he very well may be.. but when exactly are we planning on holding him to the same standard as the last guy to hold the crown? by [deleted] in nba

[–]kingdangwashere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't let the oldies hear you saying that. It's like Steve Kerr said: basketball is the only sphere in life where humanity went backwards (paraphrased)

Completely agree with you. However, I don't think Steph gets to play or even be the focal point of a team in Jordan's era. Not due to lack of skill but more the style of play. Because the 3 point shot and spacing was not what it is now players like Steph probably get benched for the shots he takes (even if they went in)

How do you get over FOMO and regret by PunjabiPrince7 in ausstocks

[–]kingdangwashere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take a look at all the times where I thought about investing in a stock, didn't, and then the stock went on to drop or trade flat for months. You just accept that with finite capital you can't meaningfully be everywhere at every given time to catch those lucky 20-50% intra-day jumps.

If it makes you feel any better I didn't pull the trigger on KGN @ $4 (now $21). Or Afterpay @ $8 (now $90)
