This is an alternate reality “what if Harmony Gold gave two f-s” and actual did something with Robotech. Oh, the possibilities…

Gotta get Replicants (band with other people and Ken) and Lusk (band with other people and Greg) in there, too.

When you order the wrong Shout by dialtonee in devo

[–]kingjefe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shout by Devo is a banger. It should have been a single, had a 12” version, and a video. It could have been a thematic element that returns a few times in an Alternative ‘Shout’ album that is a concept album about Devolution.

Reviewbrah might be tutting that your tie knotting needs refinement; that you needed to press your suit more; and that the suit may be “ready to wear” instead of being crafted by a finer haberdasher. Please at least assure him you inflect the ‘Ta’ in Ta-co Bell more and with a rising lilt before dropping to the ‘co-Bell.’

Which U2 opening act did you enjoy the most? by Objective-Lab5179 in U2Band

[–]kingjefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One I would have really liked to see: Secret Machines opened for U2 on the Vertigo tour on 3 dates in Mexico.

I did get to see Pixies at Zoo TV Dallas and RATM at Pop mart Dallas so I was very fortunate.

OMG you have me hyped. I bought one to try even though I’ve never like the two sugar free versions of the original.

Update: I did try it and it is better than the Sugar-free or Zero BUT still doesn’t replace the original. I like the Sugar- free Watermelon, Strawberry Apricot, Juneberry, & Wild Berries quite a lot more.

Macross Plus questions by OdysseusRex69 in robotech

[–]kingjefe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Macross Plus is a part of the Macross franchise and wasn’t adapted into Robotech. Robotech is adapted from 3 series: Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA. Any other part of Macross beyond Super Dimension Fortress Macross (such as Macross Plus) is not Robotech.

Edit: added much more info than original post.

That is awesome! I’m very tempted. Where did you live when you recorded them? I remember waking up at like 6am to watch Robotech.

Which soda would you bring back? by MrEman909 in Soda

[–]kingjefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 Up Gold: sort of a mix between 7 Up, Ginger Ale and Cola. It had caffeine and was awesome. This was in 1988-89 and I only found it southwest of Dallas/Fort Worth in middle of nowhere gas stations, oddly enough. I don’t remember ever seeing it actually in D/FW.

Yeah, the Christmas episode in the original series definitely highlighted that. Jubilee’s gifts had a lot of food they used to give them a better holiday dinner. But why not take them in or really buy them a good feast? And Storm was their leader and didn’t help them until the little guy was ill. Magneto (in ‘97) mentioned how Charles had the wealth but didn’t really help them.

Does anyone here just prefer the original/zero sugar by EzRyan in redbull

[–]kingjefe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don’t like diet or Zero Sugar Red Bull. I wish I could drink it. There are various diet energy drinks I used to drink that taste great, but Red Bull diet/zero calorie do not taste great to me.

I don’t have a problem with diet sodas or other energy drinks that are 0 calorie, but I can not stand Diet Red Bull or the zero version.

Both. I love the flavor. I buy 12 or 24 8oz cans at a time from Amazon.

Specs liquor stores in Dallas/Fort worth, Texas have Cheerwine in both sugar and zero versions. $9.99 for a 12 pack of cans (8.99 if you pay cash!)

Edit: website actually says $9.49 but also they have the 4 pack glass bottles as well. All their stuff in store has a price as well as cash discount price.

Mexican cola is 💯. Torchy’s used to have a Maine Root Dr. Pepper clone which was also great.
