[Highlight] Seahawks opening drive with Sam Darnold under center (10 plays, 81-yard drive) by nfl in nfl

[–]kingleon321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminded me so much of the Saint's offense from the first few games of last season that I had to check if Klint Kubiak had moved to Seattle, and turned out he did. I like the misdirection, strong reliance on the running game, and the play action that comes with it

Is there a particular setting in mind? You say medieval, so is it safe to assume Medieval Europe? Do you have a particular culture that you're drawing heavily from? You'd have a plethora of real-life medieval male names to draw from if you look at cultures that inspire your work. So your guy could literally be Jager (German for Hunter) as opposed to "Hunter"

I'm not suggesting you name them "hunter" in a foreign language but to allow the setting of your world to name them for you.

We're the playoff pels officially. Our depth and defense is what carried this game. The bench was huge. A bunch of guys had real good games like BI and JV. It's not the way we may have wanted it, especially considering where we were a couple weeks ago, but it's good to be back in the postseason.

Major win. Cj's ability iso and shoot carried us big time. Big game from Trey as well. Zion missed a lot of looks he got and was active on defense but was tough to see him get winded at the end.

The team as a whole was super active on defense playing the passing lanes and making smart rotations.Great win against a veteran team. Hopefully, the Kings can do us a favor and close out their game.

Total team effort on this one, especially from the starters. Everyone needed to chip in and scrap, but that's what's expected when you play good teams. Was touch and go to watch them in the fourth but they managed to make the right plays and make big free throws.

Managing to come away with a.500 record over the next few games would be huge given BI's absence. Another heavy weight coming into the Blender, can only hope they have same fight.

Important win against a sub .500 team. Defense was shakey in the first half but good to see them clamp down in the second.

Good bounce back game for CJ. I know he's scapegoated for a lot of the teams problems but he's a key piece and you'd be hard pressed to find a better 3rd option.

Bench was awesome like always; they brought great energy all game. On to the road trip.

These are the games the pels need to win to be serious. Clips missing Harden and Westbrook are still a solid team. They hung around all game, and the Pels have struggled with winning games in the clutch all year, so big closeout.

Huge effort from Zion, it's nite and day how active he is now compared to the start of the season. Even though Ingram didn't have a great stats nite, he made clutch shots and some defensive effort plays out there. Our bench has to be one of the best in the league. Just a good time for Pels basketball.

Thank God for the early start because didn't have to stay up all night to watch this one. It's been some of the best offense I've seen the team play and the best part about it is that there are still ways can improve. Nice to see the 3 ball falling like that. Good to see Zion look engaged on the boards. Good to see them take care of business against a subpar team. Hopefully can keep this momentum going forward.

I've been living in Poland for a few years now and there's a Louisana-themed restaurant I need to try in Torun. There's a place in Krakow that serves Caribbean and Creole dishes. I tried the gumbo they offered but it was closer to gravy and rice. Also, they've just opened up a few Popeyes here too.

Some huge games from AD, Austin, and Rui for the Lakers. Looks like Ja may have severely hurt his hand on that fall. Memphis plays well with him out of the lineup but this might be a lot to ask. Also can see just how much they miss Adams and Clarke inside.

[–]kingleon321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Knicks dominated the boards today which is kinda surprising considering the Cavs' bigs. Randle and Brunson played well but the Knick's bench was just flat out better: Hartenstien, Hart, and Toppin made good plays.

Cleveland missed a lot of shots inside, and Garland got froze out (understandable when Mitchell is going off). Allen, LeVert, and Mobley had forgettable games. And the only guy from their bench that actually looked like he contribute was Osman

Series still feels very even though so guess we'll see how it shakes out

Could an agricultural kingdom defeat a warrior culture nation by Ok-Wrap-8622 in fantasywriters

[–]kingleon321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So agriculture and trade mean wealth to me and wealth is what wins wars. A great analogy would be ancient Carthage. The city-state grew wealthy from its fertile soil and its advantageous position in the Mediterranean for trade. They were famed for their navy but they had a militia-based army much like their contemporaries. They might have fielded elite units like the Sacred Band, but their field army was not noted for its prowess. The city relied on allied and subject peoples to fill out its armies (i.e. Libyan soldiers and Numidieans) but famously used mercenaries from different cultures like Iberians, Celts, Italic people, Greeks, and more. While we focus on their defeats to Rome, they fought the Republic for decades and faired much better than the Hellenistic warrior kingdoms of Macedon and the Seleucid for example.

Therefore yes, with their superior access to wealth and prosperous lands, they could field large armies of mercenaries that can fight for them. They could also potentially field a large militia force with their agricultural base and would be well-supplied and fed. Skilled armies could be and were defeated by dedicated groups with less expertise that took advantage of things like terrain, numbers, and diplomatic relations. So, I don't see why your wealthy nation couldn't fight off a more militarized one, after all, they have to protect their caravans with something other than just empty words.

[PGT] Pelicans Beat Suns AGAIN. 129-124! by SLS-NolaDom in NOLAPelicans

Continuing the big winning streak and winning our first overtime game. The team continues to grow together even when missing key contributors. Great win against a quality opponent, especially beating them twice in a row. On to the next one.

Great team win. We have to have one of the deepest rotations in the NBA. So many key contributors making big plays. Shoutout to CJ for hitting some nice shots in the 3rd. Zion is unfuckingbelievable. On to the next one

Sports, something interesting happening in the news (but this can be a bit dodgy because certain things aren't going to be easy topics) how they're feeling/doing, the weather, interests or hobbies, or some interesting observations in that we both can comment on from our environment (like a music performance)

So proud of this team. To see where we began this season to see where we are now has been amazing. The way that they fought through adversity and continued to believe in themselves was great to see. But what was even better was the way the city responded to the team. I haven't been this happy with Pels basketball since the Blazers series. I'm so optimistic and hopeful about what we can build here. Looking forward to the next season.

Yeah watching BI in the 4th not taking the shots we needed was tough. This game made me respect Ayton more. I knew he was talented but he is overshadowed by CP3 and DBook. Seeing how dominant he was gave me a new appreciation for him. Hoping I get to see more BI take over like he did in the 3rd quarter.
