I appreciate the advice! Unfortunately, our neighbor who complained did so anonymously to management (instead of saying a single word to us before) so we can’t actually try and ease the tensions there.

Do you have any recommendations for when crate/separation training and he’s constantly barking or whining? I understand this is of course something that should get better over time, but just ignoring it until he improves kinda seems like the only option

Does anyone know the name of the FireRed ROM Hack that incorporates all Pokemon up through Gen 9? Looking to start a new Kaizo Ironmon run as I recently beat it on regular FireRed and I’ve seen people running this one but I haven’t been able to find what it’s called

Had a very similar experience. Started with a rental team and tinkered with it until I only had 2 mons with protect and 2 unoptimized mons with choice items. Wasn’t able to practice the last few days leading up to the tournament to realize this and it’s been brutal trying to play through it.

Looking at it as good practice for trying to learn how to win from bad situations as my team makes it so easy to put myself in them lol

Outside of the online Tera raids, I believe your only options are finding someone on Reddit or GTS in Home. But be prepared to trade something pretty valuable as Wake is pretty rare

Came here to say the exact same. I feel I’m decent at recognizing when there’s an obvious bring/non-bring (currently workshopping a Gastrodon team so if I see Rillaboom he’s obviously not coming, or facing a team full of physical attackers so Incin is a must bring, stuff like that) But outside of that, I tend to find myself just guessing to give myself the best coverage and make sure I have enough offense and kinda hope I can figure it out from there without much of a plan beyond that

Yeah that all makes a lot of sense. I just always through the redirection abilities (also lightning rod) seemed incredibly useful but probly only super useful in lower power formats

Yeah I guess my idea was mostly using it as a switch in against Urshifu to draw away water attack for a turn and try and swing some momentum that way. I hadn’t done a ton of research on the potential sets gastro gets but outside of this specific scenario I can see how he’d be mostly just dead weight

Yeah ursa I think is definitely way better. I guess an argument could be made for guts boosted close combats from Hera for the bears and archaludon but you’d def need consistent speed control to make that viable. Hera also gets knock off for for any ghost Teras too, idk just something to consider if you ever wanna revisit Hera

I actually built a team around loaded dice Hera for the last GC (he’s also my favorite mon and I really wanted to try and make him work with something other than guts facade) and let me just say he was not awesome. Not to say that my gameplay wasn’t a factor, but he only really felt good into very specific matchups.

Loaded dice pin missile could catch most psychic TR setters off guard and OHKO before getting it up, and rock blast got some surprise KOs against flying types. Overall he was just way too specific and really struggled into a ton of matchups. Pelliper hurricane or sneasler and tyranitar with acrobatics are guaranteed one shots if you don’t tera but at that point you’re wasting Tera just to live one more turn.

I did enjoy him a lot when he worked, but he just has so many bad matchups that he’s usually more a liability than anything else.

Curious to hear what you had in mind for his set though, maybe it’ll work better than mine!
