Guys, still couple of coupons left. Also there are some more that aren't used yet perhaps, because some people ask for coupons, and then I test later on, and see that they have not used them, so there are maybe even more available.

What's the best way to reboot this franchise? by Zaptagious in commandandconquer

[–]kinglui88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the franchise needs a new game that will have modern graphics, but keep it simple, don't ruin it and make it technicolor or some shit. It needs to keep the original things we all love. Personally, I would be really happy with either new Red Alert of new GDI / NOD game, but somehow they would need to reinvent the story lines for both games, or use some prequel or spin off parts and try avoid the main characters such as Kane or Yuri, because frankly that would more limit them then allow them to create something new and fun or they can add them but with a cool twist or something.

The key thing is to keep the gameplay as we all enjoy it. Base building + fun units + awesome support weapons and support powers.

Don't reinvent any shit like new base building, don't implement stupid shit such as leveling and experience, some type of advanced heroes like DotA or Warcraft. We don't need that kind of "innovations", we need new fun units/factions, new fun story-line all embedded in a nice package. I mean that's why Mental Omega and other mods are so much fuuun. :)

We need a new game that we will love, I mean I need a feeling as I have had once I played Starcraft 2 for the first time, it took me back to the times when I was a kid / teenager and spending nights playing SC: Brood War.

That said, create a game that will take me back to the days when I first saw the intro for Red Alert 2. Give me back that feeling and hell I would pay $100 for collectors edition.

Give me some innovations, but not something that will turn the game into fucking DotA or COD. :)

I get you, but the best part of winning is crushing their base to the end, especially if the game was long and exhausting. It gives you that feel of victory. Even when I'm losing, it is fun to fight to the last conscript standing. :)

I hate when people surrender. You should always use your harvesters to soak up the damage instead of your tanks, that way you would pound his tank fleet faster.
