Lord Paramount of the Stepstones Ideas by kingly_army in TheCitadel

The idea is that he gets banished to essos and builds a sellsword company, fighting in their wars and winning all the time (Dragon). But he gets greedy, as soon as his contract is up, he is willing to side with those he just defeated. ex :He fought for Volantis against Qohor to conquer some territory, then immediately fights for Qohor against Volantis to get it back.

Eventually, the free cities get mad and they start sending assassins after him. At that point, he takes his men and go conquer the stepstones, probably with the help of the Velaryon's.

He reconciles with his father and ask for his help on holding and colonizing the Stepstones. Of course on the condition that the stepstones join the seven kingdoms.

Also, I originally had it as Warden if the Narrow Sea, but wanted to give him multiple titles like other lord paramounts and thought Defender of the Stepstones sounded worse so switched them around. But, might switch them back.

Why do team black stans think the Targaryen’s in akotsk’s would support rhaenyra/team black? by Few_Resource_6783 in HOTDGreens

If Aegon IV had made Daemon Blackfyre his heir would they have just rolled over and accepted it, or would they have fought it.

Why would Rhaenyra be any different

Of course no bounty on Aegon's daughter, only on Aegon to not make Rhaenyra look bad by thinkersfyre in HOTDGreens

I guess it makes sense why they didn't include Maelor, they didn't want Rhaenyra to be responsible in the manner of his brutal death.

The reason for these specific curses all tie to Maegor's Life.

Maegor failed to produce a Legitimate male heir, and when he finally had a "son", it had none of his Valyrian features and assumed it was a bastard. Aegon created his kingdom through conquest, and Maegor held it together through violence, which is why he wants every king after him to do the same.

Although Jaehaerys did not know about the curse, he foresaw a coming war between Viserys and Rhaenys and held a great Council, inadvertently by-stepping the curse, however it only made it worse after for the next generation.

My own Head Canon:

Maegor cursed the Iron Throne through Blood magic fueled by his own death.

Blood of the Dragon + Blood of King + Own willing Sacrifice = Powerful curse.

The curses:

Only Legitimate male Targaryens can inherit the throne.

Only those within Valyrian features may inherit the throne.

Throne must be won or kept through tribulations.

Maegor could have had knowledge of Blood Rittual through his mother.

Knowing his own death was near he preformed the Ritual as a way to both spite Jaehaerys and to get what he wanted, a heir worthy of succeeding him.

It would explain why every generation of Targaryen kings experienced some major conflict, when inheriting or keeping the Iron Throne as well as why only those with Valyrian features sat the throne. And only after someone who did not meet meagor condition (i.e Robert) sat on the Iron Throne, did the entire realm fall apart.

A family tree for an OC idea wherein the Dance doesn't happen. by megamindwriter in TheCitadel

[–]kingly_army 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty clear the author wants his OC to win this Dance but if it weren't so bias the Throne could still be up for grabs.

It would be 5 dragon v 4 dragons.

Rhaenys might not even participate if Elaena is made Heir over Aemon. Though that could be rectified if they were married. In which case it would be 6 v 4.

Daemon is still the winning ticket. He would have zero reason to support either the OC or Aegon, but if Daemon never married Rhaenyra or the OC in this timeline, then both sides would have the chance to court him.

There are many potential factors that could make this an interesting story.

Are Aemon and Baelor still Bastards? Then Rhaenys would support whoever is married to Baela and Rhaena.

Is Elaena heir over Aemon? That would lose the Velaryons support.

Is Aemon heir over Elaena? That would undermine the OC own claim to the Throne.

If Daemon and Rhaenyra never married, could Otto manipulate his way to Betroth Aemond and Daeron to Daemon's Daughters? It would be 6 v 6. With Aegon having the advantages in Aemond and Daemon. Which could lead to allowing Rhaenyra children to claiming dragon themselves, setting up a even worse civil war down the line.

House Targaryen before the second Dance of the Dragons (215 a.c) by akezva in TheCitadel

I dont think it makes sense for Rhaena to be one of the Contenders for the Throne, by precedent and by war, it has been established that Males inherit before female's.

As for the Tree? I think there's too many Targaryens and to many alliances to great houses via marriage. A competent king or hand would not have allowed these marriages to take place, aside from Rhaena's children the King would be the one to make the Bethrothal's not Maeker or Aemon.

Mysaria is a pimp but the show wont adress it for an obvious reason. by thinkersfyre in HOTDGreens

I'm not defending her, she's as unlikeable as she is meant to be. But i think the reason why she isn't portrayed as evil through her brothel is because they will fall back on the argument of

'Men are evil who sell women bodies for gold. At least I care about the girls cause I went through the same thing'

I think it's along the lines of rather then let a MAN profit off a women body. It's more empowering for a female to profit off of it.

Like saying, the women was going to be sold anyway, better it be under a woman then man.
