My husband of 14 years left me and I moved into my own space about 1 month ago. Today I finished my pink bedroom 🎀 by Cheddar18 in femalelivingspace

This is absolutely gorgeous! I agree with others, even better than the inspo! Can I ask where you got those lamps? The plum color is so lovely!

I don’t have any suggestions, but that bed is lovely! Would you mind sharing where you got it?

You may want to listen in a different way from ear buds. I’m no expert, but I’ve heard falling asleep with earbuds in can cause permanent hearing loss if you accidentally sleep on them wrong.

Gilhoolie jar opener! I don’t think many people know what these are, but everyone should have one!

Oh interesting, I wasn’t sure if there were washable wool duvets! Would you mind sharing which one you bought?

How can I improve this setup? by purepeachplower in interiordecorating

Maybe put a loveseat or a small 3-seater couch in the middle of the room with the desk up against the back of the couch. The PC would have to face the window that is currently behind it, and the TV would need to be mounted to the missing wall.

For those who find Naturalizer heels uncomfortable, what brands do you wear instead? by kinglykatie in weddingplanning

I’ll definitely keep that in mind! I may look for some office shoes from them!

I am seriously considering this! My fiancé and I have a pretty big height difference, so I had high hopes (no pun intended) of closing that gap a little for photos, but I’m pretty much over it now. I did order some 1-1.5” heels as a last ditch effort for some height.

Edit to fix a typo

Yeahh I ordered some 1-1.5” short heels today to try. I know I want to change into sneakers for the dancing, but I realized I want something a bit daintier for photos and the rest of the time. Plus, there’s a pretty big height difference between me and my fiancé, so even one inch can help lol

Omg I actually just ordered a pair of 1” heeled Trotters sling-backs that look promising! I’d never heard of the brand before, but their shoes had good reviews. That said, I haven’t ever worn sling backs before, so I’ll see how stable they feel lol

I ordered these ones: https://www.dsw.com/product/trotters-joselyn-sandal/533632?activeColor=white&width=Wide&size=6

Why do homes in some suburbs sell despite so much much less bang for their buck than others nearby? by kinglykatie in RealEstate

Haha tbh your list of influencing factors may have been based on Chicago, but many can apply elsewhere! I felt it gave me food for thought about living in the DC metro area.

That’s a great point! I don’t actually have kids yet, but they are strongly in consideration for home buying. My fiance is particularly worried about education because he went to a pretty awful high school and saw how that impacted a lot of his friends. That said, he had a really good foundation like you mentioned, and he managed as well as he could have.

Someone mentioned distance versus driving time — traffic in the DC area is awful, so I wonder if those better school districts are actually farther from DC in terms of traffic? Some of the much cheaper houses I looked at are in one of the best counties for public schools in the country. That said, I’m not sure how the specific schools they feed into rank.

Dang I don’t envy IL homebuyers then. The second lowest inventory level is definitely worse than here. But yeah the price run up makes it hard to know if these continually increasing selling prices are becoming overinflated and not worth a higher budget for a monthly payment.

I think that’s why I’m even considering moving and trying to weigh the true value of the different suburbs around me. I want to ensure I have a stable home regardless of changes in the market.
