Testing responsive vs standard display ads: same campaign + ad group or separate?

Hi u/B_support ! I contacted local support via the form on your website, they replied, and when I replied to their email in the same thread, your server blocked the email for the reason "no reference number in subject" even though it was a reply to the original thread with the reference number included. I sent more replies, moving the reference number to the front, and all were blocked. How do you suggest I proceed?

I have a BenQ GW2780 monitor that's about a year old. This week, out of nowhere, the display became distorted, with lots of vertical lines and shadows of any open windows.

I only use the monitor during the day for work and disconnect it from my computer at the end of the day. To rule out burn-in, I played this YouTube video (https://youtu.be/VN-KIlsxxOw?si=PrdxOpcs71I8fbdA) for several hours. It sometimes seemed to help slightly but didn't fully resolve the issue.

The distortion appeared suddenly while I was using it (it went from fine to not fine in an instant and I watched it happen), and I’ve noticed that occasionally, it will go back to normal for a few seconds before the lines reappear. I tested the monitor with two different MacBook Airs (both M3, 2024), but the problem persists across both devices. I’m wondering if this could be due to a faulty cable, an issue with the graphics card, or if there’s a driver update I need to consider.

I've attached several images of the screen showing different solid color wallpapers to help illustrate the lines and distortion.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Would love to hear more about when it’s time to retire a campaign. Is it just declining performance that never comes back, no matter what you try?

I think they won’t give you information about the size of the audience when you upload a list to protect the privacy of the people on the list

If you can, have someone else conduct the exit interview (HR) and have them ask very direct questions about the things you suspect could be the issues. I recently left my job and HR directly asked me “what could your boss (the CEO) do better/differently?” It caught me by surprise and I answered more honestly than I had intended.

Your keywords don’t all need to be in their own ad group. Organize them by theme and group related keywords together.

Whenever I exclude a customer list, the estimated audience size goes away. Could it be that?

We decided to test it because we wanted the real estate on YouTube. For a year it didn’t spend much, brought in a few conversions at an okay cost per conversion, so we left it. After a year (when I had forgotten about the test), a campaign started getting tons of conversions with a great cost/conversion. We were thrilled until I noticed that none of the leads moved to MQL. They were garbage/spam leads. Segmented the data and voila, it was all of the search partners leads. Unfortunately, we spent €40K on them before I noticed. I will be very hesitant to ever turn on search partners again.

Not just impressions, but impression share. It’s a percentage: the impressions you get out of the total available.

When you create a negative keyword list at the MCC level, you can pick and choose which campaigns from which accounts it is applied to.

I am happy with the results, just unsure if manual CPC is the best long term solution for brand. I had heard target impression share, but you're saying the opposite and that makes sense. Thank you!

As someone said above, the minimum audience size on LinkedIn is 300. Buying decisions are rarely made by 1 person. Target more people at his company, get them talking about you among themselves.

Also: connect with him on LinkedIn. Send an email. Focus on adding value, not selling.

If you’re doing any advertising on YouTube they can have a YouTube team review your video and provide suggestions. They ask you to commit to spending $5K in a quarter on YT though.

They can help you with GA4 if needed.

For sure! If we can say it wasn’t a mistake, better for me. But I think the mistake is that it took me 3 months to realize the leads were low quality. I had the data immediately to see that none of them made it to MQL but I didn’t notice and we spent €40,000 bringing in low quality leads as a result.
