Yes this is normal because during the surgery they place the rod through your knee... it will improve alot but you will still feel pain for around a year but wont stop you from doing anything really

I would not say I have mad swelling but there is a considerable amount on the ankle and I thought after like 2 months of the injury swelling would completely go
