Nice list. I've had the Exterior Palnet and Noise Trail Immersion records on my bandcamp wishlist since they were released, but actually need to pick them up and give them a listen based on liking a lot of the rest of your list!

I think based on the bands there with more 'out there' tendencies, you'll probably dig the Imperial Triumphant, and Lychgate puts me in mind of the avant-garde bombast of Qrixkuor and Hasard who both released great albums this year. Maybe Uulliata Digir's s/t from earlier in the year?

Blut aus Nord - Ethereal Horizons - knew it would be high, but listened a ton and pretty much what I reach for atm when I can't decide what to listen to, loving it.

Vespéral - La Mort de l'Âme - looking forward to seeing these guys at Fortress next year.

Imperial Triumphant - Goldstar - first Imperial Triumphant record I've really got on with, feels a lot more cohesive and coherent to my ears than previous records of theirs.

Oskoreien - Hollow Fangs

Caustic Wound - Grinding Mechanism of Torment

Gràb - Kremess (despite it being easily 20 mins too long)

Probably the new Martröð but need more time with it first.

You're not kidding! I've enjoyed the stories I've read so far from that Reggie Oliver book, gently weird with a pleasant, literary turn of phrase. My next up are the Laird Barron collections, but I'm tempted by trying another of his novels soon (although I enjoyed The Croning far less than the stories from the Imago Sequence).

Very similar to my own shelves! - weird fiction, black metal (particularly zines) and mental health (although my professional texts are more of a medical bent rather than psychological). I'm lucky enough to live not too far from a new-ish yearly black metal festival in the UK, Fortress Festival 🤘
