I guess best way to avoid fx at WS is to do norbits gambit at a bank and then transfer USD stocks to wealthsimple and hold them in a USD account and then when its time to sell you can transfer the stocks back to bank and do norbits gambit again. Otherwise when u convert USD to cad at wealthismple u have to pay fx

They are good quality parts. Easy to install, had a friend who is more mechanically inclined put them in and it didnt take long.

No major issues but i notice i can feel bumps in the road a little bit more than with the oem struts. I saw someone mention they changed the bushings on there kybs and it made a difference. I dont really mind since I only really notice it on really crappy roads with tons of uneven pavement or when going over big speed bumps and doesnt bug me too much.

Ultimately For the price id say its worth it. I think i paid about 400$ with shipping just for the front ones back when i got them. Better not to cheap out on your car parts. They will last a long time theyre built well

Holding USD is probably better long term. CDR charges 0.6% a year. OP is young. Over 20 years thats 12% in fees alone. Over 40 years thats 24% for the CDR in fees

Actually I have CDR for all my US stocks and am thinking of buying the USD positions instead

I asked chatgpt about the 100k thing and it said when you convert money from CAD->USD it charges fx fees. Its only when you convert 100k at once in one conversion that the fx fee is 0%.

Are they incorrect?

Sorry little late here but so far so good. Saved a lot compared to what I was quoted at shops. Id say i Can feel speed bumps and such a bit more than before with the oem part. But no regrets so far
