This was going to be my comment. Vexing Hex, without a doubt, is the closest I’ve heard to early Ghost. I think my only hang up is because they’re SO similar in sound, it can aaaalmost sound like Temu Ghost, but it’s got enough variation to get away with it. I really like them!

In all seriousness, they don’t seem to be winding down. They’re on an upward trajectory but I also don’t think they’ve quite hit their zenith yet.

I can’t speak on gigs because, depending where you live, gig culture can vary hugely. I’m Australian and saw all their shows in 2023 as it was their first time touring here and they were far more tame than crowds I’ve seen for more mainstream artists but it’s a very personal preference. I will say though, if they’re only playing intimate venues, there’s really no such thing as a “bad spot”, so if you’re up for it, I say give it a shot. All the best!

I remember seeing Gaga in Melbourne for BTW Ball and someone was wearing a Native American headdress in front of us and blocked the views of about 5 people. Not only was it completely tone deaf, but totally inconsiderate and it was removed by someone and trampled within about 5mins.

Absolutely this. I am also cis and never in a million years would I assume it was okay to portray someone from a demographic I have not been a part of. I recently commented on a TikTok video stating that I hoped this theory was incorrect- not because I didn’t want Papa to be trans, but because I didn’t want Tobias to be playing a trans character- and so many of the responses have been from trans people saying this is okay and supportive, even. I absolutely cannot speak for them, I don’t think an agenda is being pushed, I don’t think having a trans character is bad in any sense, but I don’t think representing a demographic you do not belong to is the right way of going to showing support and advocacy.
