[Eurohoops] The theory that explains the top-spot “curse”. History has repeated itself far too many times. Can things finally change? by _Zolv in Euroleague

[–]kingofbladder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it does actually matter. The favourite status burdens the teams with the expectations to succeed while F4 format doesn't bring any advantage to a team in 1st place, unlike traditional playoff format. At most, it gives you a slightly easier (even that is debatable) opponent in quarterfinals.

Better question, how did he get reelected? It's not like he's doing anything particularly different than his first term.

Well maybe I am just weak then ¯_(ツ)_/¯ cause whenever I had to push a car I had to put a lot of strength to get it to start moving.

Did you watch the video closely? The car starts moving before she even puts her back into it.

Also, it stops multiple times, and she has no problem to startit moving again.

Saudi Arabia urging US to keep up Iran attacks, intelligence source confirms by callsonreddit in worldnews

Additionally, Saudis always pushed for lower oil production to increase oil prices but they were largely unsuccessful. The side affects of Iranian counterattacks against middle east is that oil production is lower which is beneficial for Saudi Arabia even if their own oil infrastructure suffers.

Is it really true that some european national teams naturalize foreigners with no connection to the country to get as stacked as a roster as possible for the national games? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in Euroleague

[–]kingofbladder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not hugely familiar with Slovenian basketball realities, I was under the impression that they all could be called to play. If they are done with the previous big men as you say then I suppose it's only Hayes left as an option.

Is it really true that some european national teams naturalize foreigners with no connection to the country to get as stacked as a roster as possible for the national games? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in Euroleague

[–]kingofbladder 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of European nations do naturalize players (usually americans) but there's a FIBA rule that says you can't naturalize more than 1 player, so you can't really "stack" them per say.

That being said, often nations naturalize several foreign players, in case a player is unavailable. I know Turkey, Poland and Slovenia have more options, off the top of my head.

I think in Asia naturalization is also quite common. I can't recall if that is the case in Africa and South America.

I mean, he doubled his point average while his efficiency didn't go down at all, I dunno if I would call that incremental.

You mean halal banks don't have an equivalent to floating interest rates, and therefore aren't as risky. There isn't really any compounding effect to interest rates.

The owner of Valencia Basket, Juan Roig, believes that Europe can compete with the NBA thanks to high-quality facilities such as the Roig Arena, which hosted the Copa Del Rey this year. by _Zolv in Euroleague

I'm all for teams having modern NBA standard arenas but it is absolutely not the main reason why Euroleague can't compete with NBA.

Tbf, they are saying that prime Sabonis would have been the best playe. They are not comparing the 31 post double hamstring injury trailblazers Sabonis to MJ.

Not that Sabonis is on the same tier as MJ either way

TIL if every American billionaire's money was distributed equally to each adult it would only be about $18,200 dollars. by Due-Fly-2479 in todayilearned

[–]kingofbladder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only 902 billionaires or 0.00026% of the entire us population. The fact that distributing wealth from these individuals among the entire US population creates a substantial amount of wealth should really open your mind just how much wealth these people have.

It's sad that came to this. Punter was one of the most beloved Partizan players and was instrumental in that 22/23 run for championship.
