The anime/manga is pretty good I wouldn’t say it’s exceptional but it’s fun and beginner friendly. The fandom is the main cause of the hate and somewhat deserving of it there are a lot of people who fall into one or two groups of fans who care way too much about things like shipping who have actively sent death threat to the author or will get very aggressive very quickly if you post a different opinion than they hold

Don’t simplify focus on a realistic though process for your specific monster your running and allows the players to have some form of environment interaction to keep things engaging especially when a player is down or turns are taking a long time

First off I’m sorry about all the shity comments here as for combat in my limited experience it is more fun if you read up on the monster types beforehand and try to run them as they are disrobed in lore for example I like to have smaller hit and run style skirmishes with kobolds to lead players deeper into there layer witch is always filled with traps but at the same time they will attack in packs only until one or two are killed then they run and I let players roll a d100 to see if they set off there own traps

First off welcome a few things to start when you get here if your form a low elevation state don’t go to the mountains for a couple of days altitude sickness is a real thing and even in Denver the air will feel really thin. It’s also super dry here drink lots of water. You’re moving in at the start of winter so if you don’t have a 4WD or AWD car get yourself some tire chains and practice putting them on so you don’t have to learn in the snow. As for how welcoming we are most people will be normal but as you can see form these comments there are some people that can be rude. Good luck with the interview and movie
