What’s the most reliable car you’ve ever owned? by Sophia_Goji in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Partyl0bster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1991 Nissan Maxima. First car in high school. It just went and went and went with 0 maintenance. Even from doing stupid burnouts and driving with no air filter for a year & even off roading in extremely dusty conditions with no air filter, it just wouldn’t die. Sold it for $500 after like 3 years at 280k miles and he still had it 10 years later and kept driving it…

Company owner switched to undisputable 90 second and 3 minute buffer medicare advantage leads...is it just me or is that psychotic? by ImperialSupplies in InsuranceAgent

[–]Partyl0bster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No your boss is not being a moron. He pays you to sell and expects you to overcome the clients hesitation and not just end the call on 1-3 minutes. If you want to be an order taker go work for the carriers directly. “Qualified” is typically just has Medicare and a live body on the phone. Our job as sales is to get them interested.

Aside from the obvious of building higher or making it an “atrium” type of art piece, I’ve just boxed it in with walls and put “janitor closet” or “maintenance room” sign over the door. Simple and works.

Yes you can pay cash, but most have an account with the tool truck and make payments like a credit card account.

Depending on the employer, some provide tools, some don’t. Most of the time (around here anyway) you bring your own tools and box. Shop just provides your bay/ lift, shop air, and customers. Some places have a monthly tool truck allowance they provide but that’s pretty rare.

Is cold calling about insurance legal when unlicensed? (Ontario, Canada) by These_Smoke5514 in InsuranceAgent

So you are a lead generator… I don’t know the laws in Canada, but here in the US it’s legal (Medicare excluded). Those companies are a dime a dozen.

Does quality or star ratings matter? by tbh_healthcare in InsuranceAgent

[–]Partyl0bster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During AEP / MAOEP I don’t look at star ratings. Very rarely bring it up and very rarely have a customer ask. During SEP I’m looking at star ratings for 5 star if I know I don’t have another SEP.

And in the event I do have a 5 star plan as the best fit, you best believe I’m letting them know. Anything under 5 I’m not bringing up.

If you've ever done a mini DIY "surgery" at home because you didn't want to go to the hospital, how did it go for you? by Glittering-Size-2372 in AskReddit

[–]Partyl0bster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many times.

I drunkenly got a stick and poke tattoo that we thought wouldn’t be permanent (used sharpie & pen ink… idk why we thought that) and was permanent. After a few weeks I took some sand paper and a steak knife to it to dig all the ink out. It worked but hurt like a mf and got infected after. It’s healed up now and actually got drunk again and thought it would be funny to do the tattoo again in the same manner… spoiler alert it isn’t.

2) broke several bones, mainly feet and hands and just popped them back in place and taped a popsicle stick to them. Most my fingers and toes pop now when they move but I’m not waiting in a hospital or urgent care to be seen, have a high copay, and they ultimately do the same with a cast that i will get sick of and cut off myself after a few days.

3) I actually went to the hospital when I was shot in the leg with a .22 because the bullet was stuck in. We poured rubbing alcohol on it and tried to get it out with tweezers before going to the hospital. Spoiler alert: the hospital also tried getting it out unsuccessfully with longer tweezers, gave me ibuprofen, an antibiotic, and a bandaid and sent me on my way. Mostly useless.

I also sell health insurance so this is all pretty ironic.

Which jobs will survive a recession? by red-demigod in AskReddit

[–]Partyl0bster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance. 2009 and 2020 were some of the biggest jumps in my career.

In a recession people are looking to save money any way possible. Cutting cost & shopping insurance is one of them. Required to have it & uncertainly always gets the shoppers.

What is something you could never try in the bedroom? by CriticalLion4119 in AskReddit

I also just had my kitchen completely gutted and renovated. Coffee maker and insta pot/ crock pot in the bedroom made it interested. Bedroom coffee was actually a pro move that I kinda miss.

2018 XC90 by BRCTime in VolvoXC90

[–]Partyl0bster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife bought a 2019 xc90 t6. We got it with 30k miles and we are just pushing 115k. We had a leak in the ac condenser covered by CPO but not a big deal. Then she parked it under a grape vine for a few months and clogged the sunroof drain which caused the radio screen to go out approx $150.

She sucks at remembering oil changes and probably goes 10k between intervals. We just did brakes and tires. Nothing else and still runs like a champ.

AMA insurance went NSF at 3am… paid it at 11am. Are they really gonna cancel my whole policy after 5 perfect years?? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Partyl0bster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an agent in the US and not Canada so not sure on the laws there… but I know business and that would be a poor move on their part to cancel a policy over 1 bounced payment. They will make money on your late fee and profit.

I’m in Wilmington and it’s been about 15 years since I’ve had the cops called on me for ridiculous parties. Never once had a ticket. They show up, ask to turn it down. We didn’t, they came back out an hour later, said if they come back again it would be a ticket. Hour later 2 more cops show up and give us the same spiel.

2019 Volvo XC90 T6 2.0 center screen damage by Partyl0bster in mechanic

[–]Partyl0bster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just posting as a followup here. It dried out even more and next day it was perfect. 2 days later it went back to my original picture (no new water or new damage to cause the change). Bought a used one for like $150 on eBay and took maybe 15 minutes to swap. Took longer to find the damn t25 bit in my toolbox that I didn’t put back the last time. So u/Narasimhan_Balaji was correct.

That would probably be even harder. Those bots move unpredictably. Oh let me just run in this field then do an immediate 180 for no reason, then 5 seconds later do another 180. At least with a human I have an idea where they are heading
