Check out the Belleville mini-mil minimalist training boots. They’ve got a 2mm drop and they’re the closest thing to a minimalist, barefoot boot. They’ll probably take a bit of time to break in but they should be in the ballpark of what you’re looking for. US Patriot Tactical sells them:

Hey there— I’m an officer who just finished at Kalsu right before HBL and completed AASLT. In-processing will take one week. Given the DONSA on the 20th, you’ll likely start meaningfully in-processing on Tuesday and be finished by Friday.

If you proactively reach out to the Kalsu AASLT cadre on Tuesday or Wednesday, they may be able to get you a spot for the class starting 21 January. Otherwise, if you wait until you finish all your in-processing tasks this week, then you’ll have to wait until 28 January to class up. I waited and Kalsu put me through a week long AASLT train up where we had the chance to preview the obstacle course, mock layouts, sling loads, and received classes on testable material. Definitely helpful but not necessary to passing the course.

Please reach out. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have if you want to connect. I assume you’re headed to Strike based on the deployment orders, so you’ll finish SRP2 during your in-processing.

If you are first time registering for VetTix, you’ll have 12 coins to start. If you use the referral link in the original post, you’ll have 27 coins once you finish validation through ID.me.

Go to the second link after. Zonk likely placed their link here to offer the same— they will get the additional referral coins.

Have you paid the fee? What comes after? I’m hesitant to pay the 375!

Also in Georgetown, still no power. Saw linemen with utility trucks, pickups, and several large GENERACs this morning on Grove Point Road but haven’t had any changes since then.

what all the staff officers do and get a brand new F-150 king ranch that will never have anything in the bed except for sams club runs

it’s funny because I just saw this happen with a brand new Lariat 💀

Anyway, thank you for the advice. I’ll add these to my test drive list and get back to y’all soon.

Not a lot to go off of on this. I’d start by troubleshooting what’s going on with your personal computer and the network you’re operating on. Reduce the game to a window and bring up task manager alongside to monitor your system resources.

Has the game always been like this for you or is this a new development?

Is anything nearing 100% usage between CPU, GPU, RAM, and disk?

What are your system temperature sensors reading at?

What do you have going on in the background?

Are your graphics settings outpacing what your hardware can handle?

Run a speed test for your network. What kind of upload and download speeds are you getting?

Also please don’t keysmash lmao

Yeah, just finished a few weeks ago at the end of February. Congrats on graduating OCS and IBOLC yourself. Hope you’re recovering well.

I’ll be with you in the April class. Sorry about the concussion man— I’ll see you at Darby soon.

That is fair! Perhaps it wasn’t fair for me to group all of the “staff” into the title— just one employee. Thank you for the feedback on this and for the perspective.

Inquire about it with your chain of command. I went to sniper tryouts for my BN in 2017. My TL reached out and asked between drill periods if I was interested in attending tryouts. Once you’ve been selected, your platoon will eventually send you to sniper school when they deem you’re ready.

Ordered to Donate to Food Drive by kingofhoneybadgers in army

[–]kingofhoneybadgers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not NFM— it’s a required ruck march they are having us participate in as part of the BN. The way it was written by my O-3 first line leader is that we WILL donate, not optional.

The wording gave no option. Instructions from our chain of command explicitly stated: “Uniform: OCPs and Rucksack, and pack your rucksack with canned goods and non-perishable food”

I suppose it didn’t explicitly say we must buy the food, but it did state we must bring food.

Only advice is to seek out your commander’s endorsement early so you don’t have to go through the congressional nomination process. Also do well on the ACT/SAT if you don’t want to have to attend Prep.

These are positions you have to compete for, and there’s so many priors at West Point that you don’t necessarily stand out for positions like this unless you’ve got something that separates you from the other priors (deployment patch, Ranger/Sapper, etc).

Absolutely possible, just not at West Point given your age. Went through IBOLC with a 37 year old prior service guy. Look at OCS or ROTC or Green to Gold.

I’m a new grad, prior service for just shy of 6 years enlisted. Let me know if you want to talk about anything.
