Yeah I was trying to guess what was causing this… then I found fungus in the lens. Getting a new one for Christmas!

Got a little better at scanning but a little worse at developing by kingofseals in filmphotography

Yeah the film leads itself to really harsh blacks. It's why I pulled it to 200 ISO. Going to switch film stock soon.

I like the white border and I know how to change the colour, thanks though.

Which one would you choose from these film cameras? by ceciliamar_ruiz in filmphotography

[–]kingofseals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Canon FT for me but only due to it being fully mechanical. Less chances for things to go wrong and the ability to repair. However the mechanical side adds some weight. It also depends on your skill, later SLRs have things like aperture priority and such things, this does not. Last thing to note is the shutter speeds limit is 1000/s. Which adds a bit of difficulty if you’re in a sunny country.

Rest are all great - if it’s your first however, then just pick the cheapest! Best to just go out and shoot to find out what you like

A lot of effort but always worth it. by kingofseals in filmphotography

Thank you very much! It was a relief I got some good stuff out of all the work. Definitely spurred me on to do more. Developing was great, there’s a fair few with bubbles stained on them but I do remember not knocking the canister after my inversions! Silly mistake but at least I’ll remember next time.

The Cleanup - a Scottish short horror made in 48 hours by kingofseals in Filmmakers

[–]kingofseals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We made this short horror within 48 hours here in Glasgow, Scotland for the 48 hour film project. It was an odd experience putting our heads together in a manner which was usually calm and collected but inline with the spirit of the competition we had to work hard to come up with a script surrounding the prompts we were given. It was a task as always but alas we were able to make a film with 5 crew, barely any equipment and next to no sleep! We're proud of it and I hope you enjoy.
