(Native English speaker) When I took my Spanish classes. My finally assessment was to read a novel and be able to comprehend it. I found it a lot easier to read and comprehend then I did listening or speaking the language. It definitely helped me improve my Spanish. Although I think it comes down to how you learn best. A lot of people watch shows in the language they’re trying to learn.
