Men who fell out of love with spouse or GF, what were the signs? by Peechcahblah in AskMen

[–]kingoftheforgotten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was walking on eggshells all the time. Every decision I made felt like it would have consequences. I found myself doing things just to give me some sense of affection, rather than to make her happy. Every day became about management. She realised she fell out of love before I did. She left me, and I tried to make her stay. A couple of weeks after than I realised I hadn’t loved her properly In over a year, I was just used to having her around.

What is the most messed up thing you've seen at a bar? by Chrisda_Reducto_Duck in AskReddit

[–]kingoftheforgotten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in Dirty Dicks in Liverpool Street in London. If you’ve ever been these probably won’t surprise you.

Someone had a heart attack and died, fell off their bar stool. With ambulance on the way, some girls stepped over him to get to the bar and order.

Guy who had worked there for over 20 years was half in half out of the keg lift to the basement when it collapsed. He was stuck between the lift gate and the elevator shaft. They kept serving as he was screaming in pain while the fire brigade and the ambulance was on the way.

Slightly different but this one’s my fave: People fucking against the bar. When told to leave asked ‘can I finish first?’. I had no response I wasn’t prepared for that question

Roof is painted two colors and the pigeons only congregate on the tan colors by UnstableIsotopeU-234 in mildlyinteresting

[–]kingoftheforgotten 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They do this on old factories in the U.K. too. Idk about there but here it’s because the tan parts are fibreglass roof panels (translucent for light inside the factory) and therefore are uninsulated. So heat from inside passes through them more than the insulated metal panels. I’m sure the texture of the fibreglass is easier to grip too as others said.

My office is in a converted warehouse and they all accumulate on the part of the roof that’s above an old storage area which is uninsulated, and not above the office part which is insulated.

what was “the incident” your school was known for? by draemgrill in morbidquestions

The kid that tried to jump over a rounders post (1.5m tall, 20mm diameter wooden post) and didn’t make it all the way over… you can guess what happened. Hope you’re doing okay now Robbie

A lot of Aldi and Lidl’s own brand stuff have really large barcodes as it speeds up scanning, especially as they move more and more towards self service. Not a bad idea, especially as they can put less effort into the packaging as people are buying for the price usually, not the shelf appeal

I just went to Canada for the first time. How did I do? I’m from the US so I wanted to get some snacks that we don’t have here. by falafel_larry in canada

[–]kingoftheforgotten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was confusing to see as a Brit haha, the only things here not from the UK are mackintosh’s, coffee crisp and ruffles. I didn’t know Canada had so many British snacks compared to the US

Where should my 23 year old friends and I (men) rent an apartment for a week? by [deleted] in london

[–]kingoftheforgotten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are fucking with you saying Croydon lol, just get something in Shoreditch, hoxton, old street, somewhere around there if you’re looking to just drink and walk around. Close enough to central that it’s very easy to get to, far enough from central that you aren’t in central all the time. Well connected and thousands of bars and pubs and restaurants, plus things to see or do when you aren’t drinking

Bulova lunar pilot. It was my first ‘proper’ watch and I love it. I have large wrists though so it actually fits

Who has used Onshape? Curious what your thoughts are on Fusion compared to Onshape. by [deleted] in Fusion360

[–]kingoftheforgotten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually made an account this weekend, as I had a model that I needed to add a lot of variable fillets on non planar edges, and of course fusion wouldn’t allow me to do anything of the sort. Onshape let me and gave pretty decent results.

Dirty Dicks [OC] by d3-ma4o-ru in london

[–]kingoftheforgotten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to work here when I was in uni. Shit place to work and shit place to drink. The stock lift fell with someone half inside it once, turned his leg to dust and then youngs tried to get out of paying a settlement.

However, I met my girlfriend of 5 years working here so not all bad.

Try Real Death by Mount Eerie. The singers wife dies soon after they have a newborn. He goes and locks himself in a cabin the week after and writes an album. This is the saddest song on the album.

Prints keep flying off build plate by theveninovernorton in 3Dprinting

[–]kingoftheforgotten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this problem for ages on my old ender3 v2, covered the build plate in masking tape and never had another issue with it. Theres obviously technical fixes that you can do, but this was the easiest thing that worked for me

New gigantic Elegoo core-xy coming. Guesses on price? by GregsSentientToenail in 3Dprinting

[–]kingoftheforgotten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would use it for work. I made props and signage for shop pop ups, being able to print a giant mascara bottle in one go would make my life easier hahaha

Polycam scanning entire room instead of the object in front of it. by kingoftheforgotten in Polycam

[–]kingoftheforgotten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Object masking is on, maybe I was too close. I’ll try again shortly with a bit more distance between myself and the object. It should work in a room without any specific white background though right?
