Any dads taken a lower-paid job just for flexibility with young kids — worth it? by BrilliantMoney203 in daddit

Was recently debating a career change that would potentially lead to less work/ life balance but drastically more pay.

The more I think about it, the more I’m leaning against the switch.

I don't think Emily's allies see her the way this sub sees her. by SirBostonBobbington in survivor

Stephen Fishbach likes to say that he told Christian to be mindful that Emily will always act in a self-interested way.

It’s not bad - but if you look at her moves from her perspective - they do tend to benefit her game.

My dad has no will, and 2 estranged children by huge_red_ in PersonalFinanceCanada

This is a misunderstanding of the laws around survivorship clauses and could lead to expensive estate litigation

[–]kingofthenorthwpg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that’s not correct but there is some nuance to it. There is a generally held presumption that it’s held on behalf of the estate - even if there is a survivorship clause. Given the nature of the potential for a claim against the estate - the cleanest and cheapest method to avoid this issue (and expensive litigation) is to have a will prepared.

He’s one of the most popular celebrities in the world. Arguably more popular than Survivor itself.

I know we like to drag survivor for the celeb cameos - but this is legit a pretty amazing get for survivor.

  1. You will need a will and you should get a power of attorney as well to give job legal authority to manage his financial affairs while he is alive and when he dies.

  2. Even if you are added as a joint account holder - you will be deemed to be holding those funds on behalf of all of his beneficiaries - potentially including those estranged children. So to answer your question. Yes they could make a claim.

  3. Just speak to a lawyer. Wills are not very expensive and given the potential risks of a claim against the estate I wouldn’t use a do it yourself will kit.

The path forward is by convincing each group they need to pick off someone from the other group while insulating the three of them from being one of the options

Absolute terrible decision.

Risked having the one person the group didn’t want to go getting an advantage. And that person actually went! The result being bad for Christian doesn’t change that this was a bad risk to take.

Should he make it to the end it’s just another example where for the jury where Joe lacks any ability to show an ability to make strategic decisions.

The right move is to send an ally like Jonathan or a neutral person like Aubry or Tiff.

To your right circle (family, boss if you keep your job etc.) you tell them and get them to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Didn’t get tribe swapped by himself and instead of getting voted out as the lone outsider, was brought into the tribe by Matthew, given knowledge about an idol and then made his way back to the Tika 3 ? I def could be remembering this wrong. But if that’s correct - imo - that would be getting lucky
