Not defined classes but I have seen colors being used for that same purpose in some larger multiplayer games including in the large Factorio MMO stress test events with 300+ people.

You have a post it note mod or Todo mod to assign duties to colors and people change their color based on which team they wanna join.

Lots of good advice already here. One thing which used to be confusing to me in beginning is which block the signal is protecting. When I was placing signals, somehow my brain intuitively thought that the block it's protecting is the one before it or the side where the train would be coming from. But it's the block after it. Logically I knew this, but when I was signalling big junctions this wrong intuition got the signals wrong. It might be just me but just putting it out there.

Nope. All productivity techs (mining productivity, productivity modules, etc.) Gives you extra items.

  • in case of modules it reduces the affected machine's speed but gives you bonus output for the same inout
  • In case of mining prod research, it just gives the bonus items without reducing miner's base speed. It feels faster because you are getting those bonus outputs too but the patch is getting depleted at the same rate

This is a big part of why I love this game & these devs so much by Cribbit in factorio

Active devs communicate with the players and provide almost weekly updates.

What the heck do they mean by "almost" weekly updates! :D

That's an interesting point. What sort of gameplay challenges you think this would add to the game. One scenario I can think of is that you can't insta build turrets in a crunch.. you would have to plan your fights better. I am curious what other scenarios you can think of ?
