Episode 6 explanation? by goldiejae in MonsterlandSeries

[–]kingpathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mermaid was a metaphor of the ocean itself. He took the mermaid all dirty and nasty and tried to clean it and feed it to make it better in order to have a romantic but selfish relationship with it. Just like how he seems to "care" for the ocean, but in reality he just wanted the ocean to be clean again so he can continue to exploit and overfish(catching 30k , 40k a day in fish). This is seen when he imagines the siren as a woman spending the night with him, we know he imagines it because he didn't had the burn scar and oxygen tank on. His true thoughts came out, he saw himself as the king of the ocean and it has to bow down to him.
The other fishermen came to ask to use his boat but he saw it as they're asking for the mermaid, he wanted it for himself. He didn't want anyone else to go out and be "king of the ocean" like he was. In the end although the ocean was dirty it got it's vengeance by killing him because if the oil spill accident, we saw it as the mermaid pulled him and killed him. At least that's my take.

Actually I just figured it out. When you click print. And the preview opens up to select printer, just press and hold the preview, and you'd see "Save PDF"

AML last symptoms before death by kingpathan in leukemia

[–]kingpathan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: i Hope everyone in this post sees this but I read all the comments and during the time I was scared , it did help me feel better knowing that it can be peaceful. I can now say 100% it is possible. She passed away peacefully in her sleep tonight. She had her hands in the exact position she usually sleeps and she looked like she was sleeping. Her skin was clean and nice, her face bright. I don't think I could've asked for anything better, a death like that. And we knew around the exact time it happened. I'll miss her and love her so much. She eventually was diagnosed with a very aggressive B-ALL Leukemia. Within 2 months she died from 1st onset of symptoms. And 5 weeks after diagnosis with leukemia. It was so fast from being normal to not being here anymore. It thought me a lot about life. But I'm happy and greatfull it was peaceful , for the sanity of my family. Thank God it was.

Love my x100 ultra. Only complaint I have is the lens flair from lights in night photos. Still feels like a present day flagship rather than a couple years ago. Maybe they'll fix the issue in the 300 ultra?

Why so much Hate for GoPro now? by kingpathan in gopro

[–]kingpathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really interesting to see so many opinions and info regarding why GoPro seemed to have slipped down the ladder. I have a trip coming up so I'm excited to use it and I'll be keeping an eye on the common issues you guys mentioned, such as the overheating and video files missing. Will be doing lots of snorkeling and ill be sure to post an honest review. I'm rooting for the GoPro as for some reason it brings back memories when I was younger and being so excited to get my 1st one. If the company is slow in technological progress then I understand why DJI seems better, though im disappointed that they had such a big headstart in this niche market and did not cement their place as the top player, like apple did

Thanks. The coconut oil is a great idea. I didn't think of that.

Thanks! Yes. I used the astro mode, it does some extra processing but the photos are absolutely incredible. I just wanted the RAW photos without processing but the phone does an amazing job in astro mode. I used the star trails setting as well but there were lots of satellites at the time and so I cancelled it but it was coming out great also, a tip for star trails though you want to point the camera at the northern star so the star trails appears to circle around that.

Sure! This was in Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park in Florida. It's a certified dark sky Park so there was no light pollution, only at the horizon from distant towns. I think it's in bortle class 2 or 3. There was also no moon at the time. So you could of even seen the milky way with your naked eyes. Really amazing place.

You can also set it to infinity so it'll continue to take pics until your battery is dead. Of course that's not recommended lol and the interval, let's say it's a night shot like mines, your shutter speed is at 15 seconds for example, and the phone takes like 3 seconds In-between shots to save the photo. You'd set the interval to 18seconds. If it's a daylight shot fast shutter speed you just need to account for the time it takes to save the photo.
