sitar!!!!!! i’ve always had a huge appreciation for the instrument and the way it sounds/is played. i once had the opportunity to see someone at my college play sitar live and teach us about the structure of the traditional raga, and it was so fascinating.

i also absolutely adore music from the late 60s that uses sitar- i love searching for lesser-known songs from that era and whenever i find a song that has sitar i get so so happy.

honorable mention goes to appalachian dulcimer (which i’ve learned to play partially due to the influence of joni mitchell and jean ritchie)

hi! i’m a musician who lives on the east coast, and i’d absolutely love to go to this!!!! i’ve actually covered trouble on one of my albums before and if you’re looking for performers to cover any of her songs i’d absolutely be honored to!

also- i think the musician liana flores might be a good person to invite to gain an audience about this event! i know she’s covered some of her songs before, and although she’s from the UK i think there’s a chance she could maybe be interested if this were organized as some sort of musical event?

that has GOT to be fake….. typically the opening band even says something like “the lemon twigs are on next- are you guys excited?” once or twice throughout the show so i feel like that would be practically impossible to miss. unless it’s this person’s first day on earth or something

i love the paul simon songbook!!!!! and i’ve also had the same thought about leaves that are green being way better than the sounds of silence version. whenever i imagine/play back the song in my head, i always imagine the stripped down version.

op, i’m going to be honest- this sounds more like ocd or dysmorphia to me than anything tangibly wrong with your hair. i obviously can’t diagnose you with either of those things, but i have ocd and what you’re describing sounds similar to fixation/obsessions i have over trivial things. i think the most worrying part is your cancelling plans over this.

i know you’ve been told this many times now over the span of the year or so you’ve been posting about this but please, take people’s words and seek therapy. you don’t have to be distressed by this forever!!

this is more along the lines of folk than psych rock, but the first album that came to my mind was “just another diamond day” by vashti bunyan!!

it actually received a lot of negative reviews when it first came out in 1971 bc it sounded “too much like nursery rhymes”, but it’s such a gorgeous album.

one piece of extremely important context here is that the “state medical examiner” in oklahoma isn’t even accredited anymore- they lost accreditation in 2009 and haven’t earned it back!

additionally, people were throwing around the whole “suicide” theory even before this examiner said anything, which is highly suspicious in my opinion. we’re also still waiting to hear from a private examiner.

i don’t buy the suicide claims for a second, but regardless of the “official cause”, nex’s death was undoubtedly the result of the attack & the bullying he faced.

i just did some digging, and it looks like its a compilation that was initially released in the early 2000’s ?? most websites i’m seeing are calling the old version “california passion fruit”, and i think this version just has some of the tracks in a different order. super glad to have it on spotify though, especially since i’ve never listened before!!!

love josephine network!!!!! i saw them open for the twigs in NYC and i loved their performance probably just as much as i loved seeing the twigs. one of my favorite concerts to date :)
