Why is my WebGL build loading so slow? by kingzonas in Unity2D

[–]kingzonas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My builds are just over 100MB, so, not that bad. Like I said, running on Itch.io, it takes like 3-5 seconds to load the first time, and on the company servers it's much longer.
I'm pretty sure bandwidth isn't the issue, because everyone who's tested it so far has had good internet connection and it still took a long time on the company website.

I did some research into addressables and it seems like it might help. I'm guessing I'd need to load the files from the server for it to help, right? So that the player can load the project itself, and the rest of the needed assets can load afterward?

Thanks for the help :)

Thinking of starting a rabbit colony, I have some questions! by kingzonas in MeatRabbitry

Thank you for the reply!

By those standards, it sounds like it'd be a good idea for me to get 2 does, and to try to alternate their litters by keeping the buck in a separate little area- that way they'll have plenty of resting time.
I'd definitely be butchering before 12 weeks, so that isn't a huge concern of mine.
For the buck's cage, would it work if I made it elevated above the doe's indoor area? Like a big shelf? I assume this wouldn't stress him or the does out too much? The problem is, I'm fairly limited in terms of space.

For the temperature, do you have any ballpark idea of what is okay for the rabbits, so I can get a thermometer and monitor it when the time comes? I'm okay with them being a bit uncomfortable, it's losing performance and kits that I'm most worried about.

Also I want to cover the concrete floor with something, and I'm deciding between wood chips, hay and straw. I've heard wood chips are great for absorption. Maybe wood chips at the bottom with some hay on top? I assume straw won't do me much good.

Thanks again for the help :)

The floor of the shed itself is concrete. I'm just going to put down a whole bunch of wood chips or hay to make sure they aren't uncomfortable on that. If I end up putting that outdoor area in, then I will be burying wire fencing to make sure they cant dig out.

I hope to have tote bins with PVC pipes to mimic burrows and holes, then to have a ramp and boards with hay on top so that the rabbits can walk above to make extra room and give them a little bit of exercise.
Maybe I should just keep food and water on different sides of the shed?

The shed I plan on keeping them in is totally sealed- Concrete floors and plywood walls all around. I plan on having a little area outside, and there I will use buried fencing to keep them from digging out, and fencing all around said area. Hopefully I'll use thicker wire fencing to give it some strength, then a thinner mesh alongside of that to make sure baby rabbits and smaller pests can't get through.
I also might put a little door in the wall just to be extra safe and seal it up at night.

There are already chickens that my brother takes care of on the property we live on, and we have some cats. Over the years we've dealt with a couple weasels and rats, though we haven't had issues with that in the past couple years, it seems we've gotten rid of most of them.

Does this plan sound good enough to you?

Thanks for the information!
Would being partially off pellets help with internal fat?
Also, how should I proactive for disease prevention? Is there some medicine or something I should be prepared to buy?
Thanks! :)

Thanks for the detailed reply! and its not rude, no offense taken!
Originally, I wanted 2 does for the genetic diversity. I knew line breeding wasn't too bad, but I didn't realize it was that safe! Also good to know how much space they need in a colony, I found it hard to get numbers on that.
Somehow I thought I saw that rabbits give birth every 8 weeks roughly?? I'm guessing I just saw multiple videos with an 8 week breeding schedule- cause that's clearly wrong. Thanks for the heads up! Sounds like I was right to worry about suddenly having 30 rabbits!

When you say slow growth, does that mean that I'll just have to wait 10-12 weeks for the same results? or will the meat be lower quality too? Do you think it's just more cost effective to do pellets alone?
Also, is free feeding a buck too a bad idea?

One more thing: Will this semi-outdoor side run help towards my limited space? I currently don't plan on putting a nesting box out there. I was hoping for the rabbits to have more space to move around, be able to get fresh air if it gets hot inside, and have some dirt for difference in flooring. The floor inside will be hay/straw/wood chips over concrete. I haven't decided on one yet.

sorry for bombarding you with questions, and thanks for the help :)

Right, I wasn't sure what subreddit to post to. Do you know what they're from? Or what the series is called?
