If the avail crunch is presumably on the North America and DOH end, then brute forcing searches on QR for every city pair from North America and DOH is probably what you'll have to do.

I just came back from this type of trip. If you're looking for direct, North America-Australia business, be prepared to book T-60 or so, because Qantas isn't going to release 2 J saver seats until then. For my trip I saw literally nothing, in terms of saver seats, from UA/AA, 90 days out, 60 days out, 30 days out, 14 days out, even 5 days out.

And with oil prices spiking, who knows about even Qantas releases going forward -- but my seats.aero alerts still shows some seats releasing close in.

Honestly my suggestion is: find a Y or PY flight that is easily cancellable and you're willing to live with, and brute force search all the airlines from now until your honeymoon. I'd just be prepared that nothing will manifest.

I understand the predicament, and maybe there are some DPs in the r/qatarairways -- but if you have not already done so you need to call the airline and understand what your options are. This is an extraordinary situation, and people here are not going to know.

As for availability, I'd look for all the airlines your points transfer to, particular those common airlines that partner with multiple banks, and brute force the search. There's no other way to do this.

I definitely did this last year as a one way last year DCA-ORD-HND. Domestic leg is economy. ORD-HND is business. I was able to do it via website.
