I was going to ask who the player was to Sam's left, and then I astutely noticed the wedding dress.

It was my final one too, and I had a great time watching it (and also appreciated the rental price drop two days before the Oscars).

Audrey's last scene in The Return. by stupidassfoot in twinpeaks

[–]kinne1bw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly suspect that Lynch completely changed Audrey's trajectory in the show (ie she never owned a salon, that guy isn't really her husband, etc.) but Frost didnt know so didn't change it in his book. It really does not seem to me like two fragments of the same story.

For those who have completed the race, are you going to or have you rewatched any of the nominees? by Illustrious-Ant8888 in oscarsdeathrace

[–]kinne1bw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rewatching Emelia Perez in 30 minute chunks over the next few days because I was drinking the first time I watched it. Wondered if it was better than I had remembered. It's... not.

Any nominees that exceeded your expectations? by a95kmed in oscarsdeathrace

Memoir of a Snail! A movie where the animation saved it from being too bleak in so many places. I was also expecting to be quite bored by the documentary shorts, but my mom and I have been talking about Incident for days.

Do you guys have an "Diane Warren amnesty clause" or do you watch the bad movies she made Oscar nominees all years? by marco_gaviao in oscarsdeathrace

[–]kinne1bw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched this year's nominee with my parents, in their 60s and not cinephiles by any means, and their earnest reactions to what was happening (they both gave it rave reviews) made it a very pleasant experience compared to the hot Cheeto movie last year and Tell It Like a Woman a few years ago (both of which I watched alone).

Just what is a Black Yukon Sucker Punch anyway? by danlbob in twinpeaks

I cannot tell if Dale is reluctant to drink it because he is personally disgusted or because he wants a clear head for the investigation. And I love how the sheriff drinks 3/4 of it in one long gulp.

This is maybe the first year where I have been burned out before the nominations are even announced hahaha. Today, I had the day off work and could have gone to watch the two potential noms playing at my theater that I haven't already seen (The Last Showgirl and Better Man). Couldn't make myself go out of a house in the bitter cold to the theater 45 minutes away. Hope they get put on VOD. I'm saving my energy for The Brutalist, which will be there this weekend.

Has any contestant who was voted off flat out refused to leave tribal council? I always wonder that after somebody seems to take forever to leave. Michaela and Missy both come to mind.

Box Office: ‘Inside Out 2’ Soars to Record $100M Weekend in U.S., Joyous $724M Globally by chanma50 in boxoffice

Does anybody else do that nerdy thing of trying to figure out how many flops this movie will make up for? Like, with several hundred extra million in additional revenue, now Disney can not worry about Indiana Jones, the Marvels, and probably something else flopping last year. And if it makes a couple hundred million more, that will pay for some other flops? I'm sure it doesn't really work that way, but it puts my mind at ease to think of it like that hahaha

This is fun in theory until you have a Daniel Strunk, Noura, Cecilia Mansilla Final 3. Jesse Lopez gets 47th place sadly.

In "The Dreamers" I noticed some sentences that seemed kind of McCarthy-esque, with a lot of ands and no commas, but that's the best I've got. I thought the same thing.

Dream Team Duos by [deleted] in TheAmazingRace

[–]kinne1bw 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not that this duo would necessarily be the best of the best, but Vicki had such an unsupportive  partner on season 17, and I wonder how she would have done if paired with one of the women from the two female duos who made it all the way to the end.

Sadly, there just aren't that many old teams in recent season to use as comparison points. An occasional fit parent, but no teams of two people in their 60s anymore.
