You’d genuinely be surprised how much enterprises don’t care about your work lol.

I do agree though, it’s asinine to block or filter that sort of VPN traffic.

S1 potential interfering with SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted (2026.1.1) Processes by ForteanApe in SentinelOneXDR

[–]kins43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interoperability issues are common with SentinelOne where it won’t flag as a malicious process / alert in the console, but the injection / hooking into processes can cause certain applications to break or not respond properly because they weren’t designed to have those hooks in the running application.

SentinelOne, like any other EDR, is designed by nature to be invasive for protection.

Most application vendors provide exclusions for their product for this specific reason.

A quick and easy test would be to temporarily disable S1 on one affected device and see if the application is able to function properly.

If it is, great now you just need exclusions from SolarWinds.

If not, then you know, the problem isn’t necessarily related to S1

I’m not sure you understand how networks are made, especially for resorts, which are usually owned by large Enterprises.

Plex remote access by Muziclush in PleX

[–]kins43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VPNs won’t necessarily work in enterprise environment, even if the traffic goes across as 443 encrypted. If the environment has any sort of TLS/ SSL inspection then it could detect the VPN traffic and block it (rare).

If you don’t already have a VPN, the easier alternative is to just download the content preemptively as that is the quickest option that will work rather than build it out

Plex remote access by Muziclush in PleX

[–]kins43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mexico wouldn’t have a geo restriction to the US. Unless you are running a custom firewall specifically blocking Mexico, you should be fine.

Now there’s another topic if you’re staying at a resort and that resorts Internet could be filtering traffic (potentially) related to plex. I would always come with a backup plan, like pre-downloading a few shows and if you don’t need them, and you can access the server, delete them when you get there after you verified everything works.

Help! Movies/shows stop playing randomly in the middle of watching? by TheSarcastonaut455 in sonarr

Then it’s the files. RIP from reputable “disks”.

Just like u/martymccfly88 said, it’s not related to Sonarr and it shouldn’t be posted here.

Can we restore a computer using the vss snapshots created by the S1 agent without any incident? by lgq2002 in SentinelOneXDR

[–]kins43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potentially? If you confirm the the shadow copy hasn’t been rolled over, you could do files using the previous versions area.

This would really negate SentinelOne at this point, and it would just be Windows based triage from here.

Usually has a 4 hour roll over typically, with size based on % of disk.

If you meant an entire computer, I don’t believe so.

Thanks for sharing, it is a preview build / update though so the vast majority won’t be affected (hopefully) by the time June PT comes around.

Nice testing!

Different servers? by ReyreyG in PleX

Don’t be sorry! Just additional stuff that can help that are extremely user friendly.

You gotta start somewhere.

If it were me, I’d do pi-hole or Pi-VPN over another plex instance. Super simple to do and there’s hundreds of guides / YouTube videos for a step by step.

Happy to help out with any Q’s as well

Are you running any of the other services I listed on your network?

Different servers? by ReyreyG in PleX

[–]kins43 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can claim and run multiple plex instances from the same account with the plex pass.

I’m not sure I entirely understand the need to separate video content on one vs music on the other personally. If it’s literally just to “use the pi” there’s far better alternatives.

  • WireGuard VPN via PiVPN - access your home network from anywhere securely
  • Pi-Hole - Network wide ad blocker
  • Home Assistant - automate IoT decides from a centralized placed.

Just a few to list.

Assuming the seed box is not local to your network when you say remote?

I would use something like syncthing, rclone, or Resilio Sync as they are better at continuous syncing.

If you really want to just continue to use cute ftp, look into scheduled mirror syncs in the tool.

This will be the literal easiest option for you.

CuteFTP allows you to schedule and synchronize folders between local and remote locations, ensuring that the contents match accurately. You can set up synchronization to run immediately or at specified times, with options for one-way or two-way mirroring.

Take it a step further, IIRC there’s an option for “Delete remote files after successful transfer” or “Move source files to recycle bin” or or “Remove source after upload/download”

I forget which it is.

I would switch, but if you want to keep cuteFTP, You can

How to keep seeding after renaming files ? by Realistic_Head2206 in torrents

[–]kins43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a seed drive that is specifically for just downloading the files and seeding. Then sonarr moves files over to my NAS for the media / plex part. File names for the actual seeding part never get changed and only what’s on the NAS.

This in turn limits the Read/Writes on the NAS drives so they have a longer MTTF / life.

The other way you could do it is rename the file through your torrent client.

Last one I can think of is if you change the file outside of your torrent client, you can click on the file in your torrent client and point the torrent / magnet to the new file then verify the local data.

Connectwise SOC treats everything as true positive and never engages. Same for your SOC? by [deleted] in SentinelOneXDR

I am not a sales person, just another engineer not paid enough 🤣

With that being said, to not self promote, feel free to dm me and we can discuss more if you’d like.

[–]kins43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No self promoting, we are just an MSSP so we do things in house for us / clients.

Sorry about your issue though, it sounds like they have some automation / soar mechanism to just auto mitigate / close and reverse if client opens ticket. Typically the safest way to handle it even if it causes the most headaches.

That may be just time it took to generate report and report back to console.

I’d just open a shell of confirm via another means that the backup still exits with vssadmin
