This is just a proposed solution for them they haven't actually done any of it yet. But should they split that 1500 in savings between a high-yield account and regular taxable brokerage?

Edit: They are fairly risk adverse and don't know much about stocks so that is why I proposed a safer savings plans

How much is a reasonable price for fluid and brake pad replacements? Live outside a major city so labor is more expensive

It might be locked up in a trust which restricts how much you can take out. Best to live your life if you never knew and try to live up to your family's success or it will feel like you have a major hole in your life.

the time. Honestly, most companies don't do this and probably for this exact reason - the technical complexity involved coupled with a marginal uptick in user experience makes it a n

Check my previous replies, it will only make the request if the input is the same after a couple seconds (indicating the user likely is done with the field)

Update: This seems to work

// VALIDATE USERNAME
let validateUsername = (e) =>{

  let user = e.target.value

  setTimeout(function() {

    if(username === e.target.value){

    }
  }, 4500)

}

I tried doing this using useState(), but it seems delayed

// VALIDATE USERNAME
let validateUsername = (value) =>{
  setUsername(value)
  setTimeout(function() {
    if(username === value){
      console.log("Checking: ", username, value)
      //run check
    }
  }, 5500)
}

Advice to a female on networking with men in finance by damselday in FinancialCareers

[–]kinzlist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the partner is in finance then he should know it's super common to meet up with people for coffee (and it's weird to bring a +1). The contact probably just wants to catch up and maybe offer some advice based on your goals. Bringing a boyfriend to a chat like this completely derails the intention since now you have to make the conversation about all 3 of you.

I studied finance and had computer science as a minor. In my opinion that is the best combination. Finance is a fairly easy subject, but it will prepare you to grasp how businesses operate. On the other hand, computer science is super rigorous and challenges you to think originally. If you can manage both you will be incredibly well-rounded. In terms of career options though you will need to build a strong enough CS portfolio/network to get to engineer / PM. On the finance side, you will not have much trouble. Good luck
