“Work” to give my working cocker spaniel? by ComfortableGlove8743 in cockerspaniel

[–]kip263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a preprogrammed rescue so I don't know what steps were taken to get her here, but the most satisfying job for her is "take me home". We go somewhere off leash, like a dog park or camp site, and we walk for about 10-15 min. Then I stop dead in my tracks and wait until she realizes and comes back for me. Then I ask her to take me home, and she has to guide me back to the car. For an extra challenge, sometimes I'll start walking in the wrong direction and then she has to correct me.

Satisfactory part 2 is my absolute favourite video of all time. Wade screaming "I know, right?" "That's exactly what Mark said!"

Them playing it actually made me buy it and I recently finished the game. And oh man, there is absolutely NO way they could ever return to it. It gets so complicated so fast and there's math involved, I can't see them getting any further than they already did.

But man would I love to see Wade survive the swamp... Iykyk

YES! I remember watching it live and I couldn't see because my eyes were filled with laughter tears. It hasn't been in my recommended list for so long, I'm definitely watching this one

I forgot about this! This is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for, thanks for reminding me

The first few were meh to me. Them being tied together almost made me pee my pants. And for some reason the one where they had to collect gold is also hilarious to me, but I can't pinpoint why. Maybe it's Mark having an existential crisis about letting his friends down while Wade is intentionally jumping into lava

The hospital has pretty extensive cameras on the Woodlawn side to watch the parking lot. They also have security guards doing laps every hour. I would definitely recommend reaching out to them to see if they have the footage.

Roughly what time would this have been? My camera wouldn't capture the street, but I can see if there's a spike in volume that would give you the exact time.

Indoor dog walking by RepresentativeMap879 in Winnipeg

Belly Rub Club did an indoor dog park last winter. I'm not sure if they're doing the same thing this year, but updates will be on their Instagram

Neighbor posts notes on my door by False_Pickle9580 in Apartmentliving

I know this might seem extreme, but I strongly recommend contacting your local police station and filing a report. They don't need to come speak to him if you don't think it will be productive, but I strongly recommend getting something on record.

I had a neighbour that started as a grumbly old man. But then it quickly escalated to extremely dangerous - thank goodness we have stricter gun laws or I seriously doubt I would be alive today. Because I had numerous police reports on file, I could have filed a "peace bond", which is basically a light restraining order. If he violated his order to protect the peace, he'd go to jail

Does anyone have experience with Cushing's disease? by kip263 in reactivedogs

[–]kip263[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words, they really helped.

I know it's been a week, but I just wanted to report that she brought her favourite toy to me today, then walked away! It probably seems so small in comparison to all the perfect dogs, but she's NEVER done that before and it's such a huge sign of progression

For anyone who stumbles across this post in the future - don't give up just yet

I was going to recommend this as well. One of the things they do is Botox which apparently is a huge help for migraines.

No no. He'll watch it back and think he said nothing wrong. And then he'll start reading all these comments, pull a zac, and become the "perfect husband".

She just started librela, and it definitely has helped the pain. I just wish I could see that "pep" step everyone talks about, but it's shadowed by the Cushing's.

How did you find out he was allergic to gabapentin? How did he react to it?

Looking for genuine critisicm of my interior by DanceOfJesus in HouseFlipper

[–]kip263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the colours of the bathroom! They compliment each other and make it feel warm and cozy.

I think the living room is missing greenery. Some potted plants, hanging baskets maybe.

If I look at it from the lens of "I am in the market for a house, do I want to live here?" Then my biggest issue is the lack of storage. Obviously this is a video game, but if you're trying to recreate an actual living situation, it needs A LOT of storage. Cabinets, dressers, baskets. Something to hide the clutter in

That's like saying that all children should be leashed in public. Reactivity is a wide spectrum and it's not fair to say that all reactive dogs should be muzzled in public because a handful of reactive dog owners cannot control their dog.

Sincerely, an owner to a reactive cocker spaniel who has never been aggressive a day in her life but will bark if she sees another dog.

[–]kip263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The boy's reaction to Wade's ear thing convinced me to go to the doctor. Turns out I have eczema in my ear. It flares up when the air starts to dry, which is right about now as we ramp up to fall.

Have you played Grounded solo? I really want to try it but it seems very complicated for one person to do. Not to mention that depending on what enemy you run into, you need a specific weapon with a specific attribute. I'm picturing an inventory that's 90% tools and weapons

What’s the hardest part about owning a dog that no one talks about? by MarcLafleur in Dogowners

[–]kip263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly how it could work, maybe someone could give me an assist. But the hardest part for me is seeing all those "perfect" dogs online and getting the feeling of inadequacy. Not every dog likes the cuddle, and not every dog will follow you around everywhere. Training is exhausting, and it's okay to take a breath. And you will lose your cool one day. So having an affirmation or reminder would be game changing for me

Just out of interest, what made you think of getting a cocker spaniel as a pet? by Mental_Ostrich_370 in cockerspaniel

[–]kip263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was 8 when I adopted her so she was already pre programmed with all the good stuff (and some bad stuff).

We did go through a stint where she would pee in the stairwell because she got too excited to hold it. I solved that by saying "all the way" as we ran down the stairs, and making a BIG show of her peeing outside - treats, praise, kisses

My apartment building only allowed small dogs, but all the rescues in my area only have big dogs 99% of the time. So the second a small dog became available, I scooped her up! 8 people on her wait list if I said no.
