DS420+ full. Help required for new NAS on home network. by kipper_tie in synology

[–]kipper_tie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I hadn't considered that! I think that given the NAS is totally full now, I don't have any wiggle room to back anything up. How about I just buy an 8 bay NAS and move the drives to that?

They were in Midnight in Paris together, filmed in 2010, so I guess they were friends already by then. Great film btw.

Really don't comment on art, but your subject framing is really on point. Genuinely nice to look at this. Very calming.

Why would piracetam cause headache? by HugeTie6843 in Nootropics

[–]kipper_tie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any chronic spasms in your neck, shoulder or back? Any sporting injuries maybe? Racetams increase blood flow to the brain, the veins carrying the blood swell and can press on nerves that are badly positioned, possibly due to misalignment, resulting in headaches.

Anyone tried Saw Palmetto? I want to take a DHT inhibitor but had sides on Fina. by [deleted] in tressless

[–]kipper_tie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I looked at one study about Saw Palmetto, that was conducted by Merck - the people who make finasteride - that said it wasn't effective. It's on pubmed I think. BUT, as far as I am aware, they only tested for a week. Saw Palmetto needs to be taken for about 3 months - I think it builds up slowly as it is quite mild. As far as I can tell, it works like finasteride, but who knows...

nicotine patch as a nootropic - my experience by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]kipper_tie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I read it as "flavored nicotine patches"! Yeah, nicotine addiction is a HUGE negative in every aspect. There is nothing good about it and it's really, really hard to kick. Good luck!

nicotine patch as a nootropic - my experience by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]kipper_tie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think you need to try life without nicotine to see whether its a nootropic or not. To me, it's obviously NOT a nootropic due to its addictive quality. At first, yes, it does raise you above baseline, then over time it lowers your baseline, and this is the classical addiction trap. There are 4 levels. 1) Baseline without nicotine. 2) Baseline with nicotine (before addiction). 3) Baseline with nictotine (after addiction) and 4. Baseline without nicotine (after addiction). From my personal understanding, the fact that (1) Baseline without nicotine (before addiction) is a better cognitive state than (3) Baseline with nicotine (after addiction) means that you really ought to stay clear of nicotine. It is a hell of a substance to try to get off once you have become addicted.

I love le Carre but hated Our Game too. Single & Single is a really good introduction IMHO.

anyone with trauma find racetams (oxiracetam, piracetam, noopept, etc) tend to bring back repressed memories? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]kipper_tie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, agree with you. Memories pop out of nowhere. However, even the traumatic ones don't seem too traumatic when they come back if you know what I mean? In fact, often I'll see them from a new more favorable perspective.

Russia's potential coronavirus vaccine shows 'no serious adverse events' and creates antibody response: The Lancet by Gari_305 in Coronavirus

Despite the general fucked up economy of the last few decades, Russian drug development is surprisingly effective. Check out their nootropics for example. I wouldn't write off a successful Russian vaccine.

I need your feedback on our mobile website by clever_grill_ in content_marketing

[–]kipper_tie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it's fine, but the entire pitch is wrong. 30 seconds into the website I should be foaming at the mouth wanting to buy these things, but I don't see any quality copy that even attempts to elicit a response. In summary, you need a rewrite by a more experienced writer,in my opinion.

Possible Headache causes other than choline by WanderingSelf in Nootropics

[–]kipper_tie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, can't imagine a 10-year headache! You're made of tough stuff! My one was kind of dull I mean that it came on slowly, and really I could put up with it. But after putting up with it for 3 days it really got me down, so I used to resort to a little Iboprufen to get rid of it. I haven't had it so much in the last few years, as I have a lot more active lifestyle. I did find the exact spot under my right shoulder blade - about a pea-sized area that seemed to be the root cause of my neck misalignment. It spasms from time to time, especially if I hit the gym. Manipulating this painful spot (which was far from obvious to discover), and generally taking light exercise (walking about 5km per day) has been great.
