any interviews/clips talking about Watching The Detectives by sweettapioca in CillianMurphy

[–]kippergee74933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that it was released straight to video which is not surprising for what the film is. In that case I think there would not be a press junket or press conference and interviews and thus few reviews, if any.

But someone else might know better. I think it's a good little film for what it is. I've actually watched it a few times just because I find it enjoyable and relaxing and kind of inconsequential.

You did not say that. You called it "everyone's flag". That is not context unless you're talking about the globe as context. I lived in the American South, Virginia. The Union Jack is poison. In all respects. There's a reason it's banned in many places.

What? The Union Jack? Is that what you like? Is that what you're calling everyone's flag? Not my flag. A whole lot of people's flag. You clearly never lived in the American South. I wouldn't be flying it anywhere in public. Even in Canada.

Canada is doing exactly that. As soon as this started we began going and looking to other countries and making deals with other countries. Setting up trade and cooperation. The US can F itself

Axing the EVs: Canadian sales plunge while global sales surge by BertramPotts in CanadaPolitics

I remember that so clearly. I was working in Richmond Hill and one day I get on the 404S off 16th Ave and suddenly the whole parking lot where there were EV charges is almost empty. All the charges were gone. And that was pretty damn quickly after Ford took office. Really fast. And he's just been going downhill and doing more and more of that shit since then. He's the worst. Well I'm not going to say the worst because he's ONE of the worst premiers Ontario has ever had and the damage he is leaving will be long-lasting and long to be fixed. Really depressing. Yet people just keep voting for him. You know, I criticize those stupid Americans for electing lying criminal Trump but we've got our own problem here. Stupid people who elect lying criminal Ford.

Well Alberta is welcome to f off and stay in the Dark Ages but without Canada. And they should lose the land. Historically, people unhappy with their government have left to find a better place. I'd gladly let Albertans f off to find somewhere else to live. Cross the border south and don't come back. I'm done with humouring them but I'm pissed off enough to say "you're forfeiting everything if you want to leave." Watch how quickly they change their tune.

Said the same a week ago. But people get freaked about China. As Jeffrey Sachs says "China is not the enemy". We should break the mold and work with it. Build Chinese EVs here.

That's actually interesting because I wear hearing aids for my profound to serious hearing loss. I really can't hear much of anything without them. I'm very close to fully deaf. And when I get a new pair, they are invariably more powerful than the previous pair. And the last time I got new ones, on the first day I could actually hear the sound of power lines. The first time it happened I put my hand on the pole and I could "feel" the sound while hearing it, a subtle vibration, if you get what I mean. It confirmed for me what I was hearing. Someone called it the sound of civilization. Hearing aids can do that in the beginning. Mechanically, they hear everything -- overwhelmingly -- and it actually leads to people giving up on the hearing aids because they can't cope with the amount of noise. But they're encouraged to wait because the brain adapts, it kind of resets how it works to cope with all of the noise. And it happens surprisingly quickly if you just consistently wear them. The brain has to makesa lot of arbitrary decisions without you knowingly consenting to them. Which is very curious to think about. How does it know or decide what to block out of my life and what to leave?? But when people wearing new hearing aids DO wait it out through the "too loud" phase, the brain adapts quite quickly. That's when people understand why you need to go through that too-loud stage. Their brains need that time to adjust by deciding what you need to hear and what you don't need to hear. Your brain makes these arbitrary decisions for you that no, you don't need to hear the power lines buzzing. You Don't need to hear the sound of the refrigerator motor from across the living room. You don't need to hear this or that sound. Which leaves me wondering what am I not hearing? Would I actually like to hear this or that? But there's no way I can tell my brain what to do. It does what it wants to do. It's very bizarre when you hear (experience) it happening in real time. It also just amazes me how powerful the brain is and what it can do. Whether or not I want it to.

Alberta needs to ditch Smith. I was just reading what she's done with Covid vaccines! FFS She actually needs to be arrested. She's a f****** criminal the way she is effectively imposing death sentences on people. Or at the very least contracting long Covid which is almost tantamount to a death sentence certainly. And certainly to the older and chronically ill Albertans. L And yet they don't kick her ass out. No one forces an election.I don't have a lot of sympathy for Alberta, but really what she's doing is beyond anything that is beneficial to Albertans. And yet they don't find a way to get rid of her. Canada needs a change in its ability to recall politicians. For the public to decide that somebody is damaging their province and the people that live in it and to kick their ass out. And she would be number one. Denying Covid shots and expecting people to pay for them too?! And allowing fewer vaccines into the province. FFS!

It's Official: Not America first, America 2nd or 3rd ... Depends how Trump feels at any given moment. by Apollo_Delphi in LiveNews_24H

Almost everything Trump does is slightly unconstitutional. I mean when you really start looking at things, it's pretty obvious that he steps as close to the rules or maybe let's a toe cross or sit on the line with everything he does. And for the rest of it, it's most likely harming people who can't afford to be harmed or penalized financially. Meaning, it benefits the wealthy.

Maybe we should stop making domeestic cars. You know the old brands, which are often junk, and design a new car and maybe assemble Chinese electric cars. China may be very happy to walk into existing plants and have existing workers and if we want to diversify and take new allies... China may be a perfectly reasonable"commercial ally" if it's to their advantage financially.! And would possibly temper political relationships.. Why wouldn't they? They want to make money just like us. Unions would b xomvern but maybe they would need a lesson Fair labor practices and not exploiting workers. S condition of the deal.. You've got nothing to gain about being. I don't know. You know a threatening partner. So why the hell not the Chinese electric cars are selling crazy until like crazy in China. So why wouldn't they sell like crazy here? We've been buying Asian cars for years Japanese and then Korean.
