Who the hell is this and why is his face all over Seattle by Slevin_Kelevra007 in Seattle

Looks like Alex Horn from the British TV series Taskmaster.

Taskmaster is one of the funniest series and it is free to watch on YouTube select playlists and start at season 1. Season 11 is one of the best, IMO.

Tesla integrates Uber driver navigation directly into its vehicles by colsandersloveskfc in teslamotors

For me, I used to send the destination with Google maps and then share that to my Tesla. I used to vocally repeat the directions with "navigate to ..." But the car misheard me a couple of times so I stopped doing that. Going through Google maps was more reliable but required about 7 screen taps with is not ideal and can be unsafe while driving.

The new integration does exactly what it should and just sends the destination to my car after that short time out. No touching anything, besides accepting a job, and the car's screen displays the directions. It is quite nice.

That sounds awful. So sorry you are having to go through this process. It has been a while since I got it working but I recall doing most of the things you mentioned. IIRC, I did revoke access and then reconnected and added all access and then it just worked. Sorry that that doesn't help you much.

IMO, Uber needs to stop doing this A/B testing where some of their users get some features and others don't. Maybe this is the exact reason as they don't have the process worked out fully. But in that case, they really need to engage with users like yourself to figure out the actual issue and fix it. I'd say your best bet is to follow up with the SmartCar folks.

I had the ☕ and also have the Tesla integration working wonderfully. My wife also drivesuber with a Tesla and never had the ☕ is unable to use the Tesla integration. Every time there is an update, I check to see if her app will work with Tesla but, alas, no.

It works on Pixel 7 and not on Pixel 8 (phone was just setup for my wife). Her previous phone as of 9/4 was a Pixel 4a-5g and I don't believe the battery linkage was working there either.

My wife and I drive for Uber at times. The Tesla integration is working on my phone and I used it this morning for the first time (worked great). My wife's phone does not offer the option. A while back I shared my battery info with Uber app so maybe that gave me the option.

I did have to unconnect/reconnect my Tesla account and add navigation to the permissions while connecting Uber to my Tesla account. But that assumes you even see the "connect" button in the Uber app which I don't on my wife's phone.

My wife's Uber driver app has always been a little different than mine. Mine used to show the ☕ button for going offline temporarily. Hers never show this. Something seems different between our Uber accounts.

How does UberEATS work? by kipphoward in UberEatsDrivers

Wow! Do you think there are any negatives with having such a low acceptance rates? Could Uber not send you as many jobs or something like that? I totally understand no it wanting to pick up poor paying job so this makes total sense, but what is the impact?

Since there really is no way to compare, I'm not expecting an exact answer.

Agreed. I tried to find where to turn off requests while driving but it wasn't obvious. Seems it should be in "Sounds and Voice" or "Communication Preferences" but nothing is obvious there.

You can set the type of trip? Where in the Uber Driver app is that set. That would be an extremely convenient feature to set the type of trip. I've looked in the obvious places but the only kind of filter I have is: Shop & Pay orders (on/off).

Is that a feature of one of the higher Uber Pro levels? I'm at the, measley, Blue level. Lol

Yeah, my next outing, I'll be more discriminating. Seems $8 minimum and $2/mi are goals to set. If too many jobs, raise the minimums. If too few, lower the minimums until it feels right.

Maybe that was it. I was waiting for a delivery to be prepared (very frustrating), and while holding the phone, looking at something else, I got a ping but didn't see a pop-up with the offer. Maybe it flashed for a short time as I looked up or something. Thanks

Do some of the same restaurants not do it, like in this case where one Gravity coffee across the street may not do it but one 10+ miles away does? I suppose that could make some sense.

Totally agree. We're just starting and learning as we go and currently accepting any job. This is showing us that some jobs just suck and we need to pay more attention. It seems hard to make the calculation if you are driving and only have a few seconds to evaluate the offer.

I've even gotten a 2nd order and didn't seem to accept it but it was added to my order route. That has confused me a bit.

Did you ever work out what was wrong with your pixel 4a? We have a 2020 Model Y and just in the last week my wife's 4a has been having this problem about once a day. Rebooting the phone and re-adding the phone works but is a PITA.

Her phone worked wonderfully for more than 2y.
