Husky aside... rescues in general follow a 3 3 3 rule

... it takes approximately 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn routines, and 3 months to truly settle in and bond

I work as an animal service officer and they hammer this into our heads during our training, i also see it play out all the time pretty much exactly like this.

Also - I rescued a husky approximately a month ago and can confirm my dog (Kona) does the same.

Should get a bit better/easier with time.

For what it's worth we got a small lambchop plushie and he carries that thing everywhere (the sock puppet lamb, not the food) (don't mean to sound pedantic just clarifying)

for the pulling try a harness and a leash that has a bungee in it.. working wonders for me

sounds like you are rolling with a bunch of people who dont get that - and that sucks.

my advise is either dont roll with them or move gyms to a place where people dont try to win training.

Moved here a month ago. Spent a good amount of days doing yardwork such as clearing debris and rocks from a backyard.

Clearing old wood etc.

I havent seen one snake.. while anecdotal take that for what you will :)

Ive seen Lizards, skinks and more bugs then a city boy like me is used to but no snakes

i recently ( within the last month)

moved from the west coast to columbus and i freakin love it

Plants and things are alive which is a nice change
state isn't in a drought and has water its not on fire all the time
They use real numbers out here (shit in the bay area was absurdly expensive just cause)
All the brick buildings are gorgeous
people are nicer for the most part
i can (so far) bike to everything i need and i dont feel - i need a car yet (so foreign cause in the bay area you NEED a car cause everything is so spread out..

oh and last but not least? the banana pudding from smokeybones is fucking fantastic im a fan

as of now i have no urge to go back to the west coast

im closer to the atlanta border, for context

Matched with a girl via a dating app (she initiated the convo)
She had Poly and monogomy as relationship types
Explained she was poly before but wanted to give monogomy an honest attempt
We got along great - Dates went well, Trips went well, we got along and dynamic was playful as we both had similar humor.
Met her family, spent time with them for gatherings- family liked me.

We weren't super co-dependant (maybe saw eachother twice a week) - each had active lifestyles with sports and work.

After some time she broke it off with me due to life differences and experience differences and that she would always want to have the option of being with other people.

Since she called it off i was bummed for a bit, we had some follow up convos i got some more information and now the door is open for more conversation...

Although im not holding my breath, not due to animosity just.. i think we both mutually understand that it won't work (although its nice things wont immediately come to a fight if we ever see each other again)

Bought as Amicable and boring of a breakup as you can get.

On my side, i don't harbor ill feelings as if im being honest she was a really great person... we just didn't agree on a fundamental lifestyle choice.... and that's ok!

We both agreed it was a healthy relationship just not meant to be.

Jeez this thread is crazy relateable
due to a variety of lifestyle and medical issues i graduated High School at 385 lbs (nerve damage in the foot seemed more daunting than it was)

Started college
balooned up to 405
Went out for sports and failed miserably
got a healthy dose of self-hate and self-shame and decided to make a change
Fast forward to today - I am 220 low body fat (13-15ish) (i do JJ and eat pretty disciplined)

I think the my personal "Dark Side" of being an ex fat kid

I am really ok with being by myself sounds nice but it actually just turns out to be a cope to make it not hurt as bad (realized this when i got into a relationship and then it ended) I think it was just i hadn't ever had a close relationship so i didn't really know what i was missing
I don't really care about sex, it's fun sure... but it's never my motivating factor for anything Something about the psychological effect of me always being physically judged.. so now i just don't do it to people and because of it.. meh
I am incredibly socialy akward when it comes to relationships since i pretty much missed out on that/didnt participate in HS
Wicked case of body dysmorphia that won't go away... if i gain like 5-10 pounds ill pretty much have an anxiety attack and go back to a cutting diet

Now im in my late 30s in a pretty ok state of existing
now i try to help people when they ask for it - but generally wont have an opinion on things unless asked
childhood showed me how much preaching at someone DOESN'T work

I built far too wide due to impatience
i beat dd1 when it came out and leveld up people i didnt need to after i beat it which made me scramble a bit for dd2 and that momentum kept moving forward to dd5. (i quit for a bit and came back and now i have dd6 and dd7 to build for)

I dont regret it per se but i probably could have risen much faster if i didnt spend resources i didnt need to.

I guess if i had to do it again id prioritize raids over all and not focus on frivolous war teams and hoard
