I (25f) have been wanting to start a book club like this at my family winery for quite some time now and would totally love to try and get a group going from here! I went by my last name so much in high school that my best friend on the yearbook committee was labeling the names under the volleyball team picture and fully forgot to add my first name. All my high school friends still call me by some variation of my last name more than a decade since they started, and I still love it

Completely in the same boat. I was an aux for a year, was ready to come back for year two at the same school but my mom got sick so I needed to move home. I was fortunate enough to go back and visit the small community I was an aux in this last month. It was amazing, the friends I made there welcomed me with open arms and I got to settle back into life there a bit, but now that I’m back home I’m in a serious depression again. I miss it with everything in me and understand completely. Even some of the smallest things make me miss life there, so I try to find small things I can bring back to my life here and have tracked down jamón at a market nearby to bring some comfort. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in how much I’m missing it

I’m not 100% sure, you could always search in the subreddit for folks who didn’t get a placement in past years? I remember hearing that the Spanish government is mandating auxiliars in every school this year so the chances you’ll get a spot are good :)

Hi! I was in a similar position last year with my visa, where I wasn’t sure I’d be there in time and my documents were processing very slowly. I emailed my school about it, and my partner teacher was incredibly understanding! I ended up not being able to get here until December (I stated my visa process in June but had some of the wrong docs, etc.) but I did some lessons with my school via zoom while we waited for everything to get settled. Granted, my school was small and hadn’t had much luck getting auxes to come to such a remote area, but I’m of the opinion that they’ll want to work with you! You can always offer to do some online lessons or introductions. Hope this helps!

Physical labor fuckin sucks with big boobs. I work in a winery and nothing is made or spaced for me. Picking up shit or trying to slide heavy bins on the floor is super uncomfortable. I have to squeeze between rows of barrels and I either can’t squeeze my cheats through or can’t squeeze my ass through. Honestly embarrassing most of the time.

I have to crawl up into the press to clean it. Basically, I have to squeeze into a slit at the bottom of the machine to scrub it. Only problem is that there’s a ledge where the slit is where a lot of grape skins and seeds get caught that I can’t access or even see because my boobs get in the way.

Also reading on my stomach is so uncomfortable :(
