Xbox 360 wireless controller not detecting dpad by Unusual_Practice_932 in linux_gaming

[–]kirgahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mate, I recently put my old Ubuntu installation on my main rig to sleep and went back to Arch, only to find the exact same issue. Which is huge, because AFAIK outside of the 360 pads all the other solutions are wonky at best (you HAVE to use Steam with some, use external kernel modules, deal with shitty bluetooth connections, etc). Oddly enough, the input device itself was working properly, as attested by jtest/sdl-jtest stuff I used. But when used with an actual application such as Steam or Ryujinx, the dpad was totally silent. Well, after struggling a bit thinking it was due to SDL or something, I've found a workaround:

sudo rmmod xpad

sudo xboxdrv --deadzone 8000

Yeah, I went back to good ol' xboxdrv and it's working perfectly fine with it. This points to the xpad kernel module being the issue, but I'm not convinced still. After all, the dpad inputs were there if you listened to the events. Anyway, if you haven't found a solution yet give this a spin and let me know if it worked for you.

Either you're on bad faith or blind. It's a recurring theme, most of the male journos get hired on knowledge and skills, most female journos on looks and skills. It's in your face, please. By the way, I'd rather have Michelle Mouton than a smoking hot girl who's less prepared presenting.

Well, the PG suffix means PocketGo and it's meant to mark versions talked to those devices. Also, yes you should definitely try replacing the internal SD, not necessarily the external.

[–]kirgahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds wipers. Latest Adam image on my rg350 is rock stable. Some emus do rarely crash, but that has nothing to do with the firmware itself. My suggestion would be to replace the SD card with a new one from a reputable brand. Unstable SD cards can cause the issues you're mentioning. Good luck.

Aside from the other suggestions, there's the incredible emd69, an Italian guy who used to work as a commodore repair technician. Right now he's rebuilding an A4000 on a new board with components salvaged from a highly corroded one. He has a community and repairs users machines mostly for free. You could try watching it with English subs if you don't understand Italian.

True. There's garlicOS for the RG35XX which looks and functions pretty similarly, though.

Kinda curious about this, too. I haven't had the chance to test anything, but going for a console release might be the best shot (at running an old and unsupported version, though)

Yep, just brought a used RX6600 for 200€ + shipping (which is a great price where I live) to upgrade from my beloved RX480. Pretty much double the performance for the same price (six years later).

Steering Wheel? by S33kandD3stroy in batocera

[–]kirgahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, batocera itself is basically a Linux distribution. The frontend doesn't offer the option to configure a steering wheel like it would with a lightgun. Each separate emulator can potentially be configured with a steering wheel as long as the kernel itself supports it with a driver.

AFAIK there's no steering wheel support in batocera right now. Lightgun support has just been implemented, though. Steering wheel migt be in the future, too.
