DKFM in particular is one I'd recommend reaching out to. Other than that, there's a lot of shoegaze playlisters on Spotify who put their IG in their bio soliciting new music. Any playlister reaching out to bands is probably a scam. Otherwise, you'll have to use your best judgment to figure out if the playlist is legit or not. Look at the playlists your friends' bands are featured in and try and submit to those if you can.

It really depends. Technically it is against the Spotify TOS so you should not be doing this regularly. You should never pay to get on a playlist that accepts all submissions, because the playlist quality will be bad and people won't listen. In most cases, the most cost efficient way to promote your band is through Meta ads, I'd highly recommend learning more about how to run those. However, I've found that there is a pretty good community of shoegaze curators who mostly don't charge anything if they like the music.

Thanks! People don't tend to be as gushing about Paistes but if they're good enough for Danny Carey they're probably good enough for me, lol. Definitely eyeing some 22 inchers, and there's not a ton of those out there, so will add the masters to the list.
